How do I sew zipper onto garter edge?

How do I sew zipper onto garter edge?

Help! How do I make my sewing invisible for garter edge? I’m very very new to sewing and couldn’t not find anything online so far😭
I have the basting in place and am going to use a closer colour for the actual sewing, but how/where do I sew to avoid going over the purl bumps and make it super visible?

So urm.. my first intarsia project is going well :)

At this point I am telling myself this is a project where I heal my perfectionism and embrace chaos.

How many intarsia video have I watched? Many. Have I tried a swatch? Yes and it is the worst swath I have ever made. Am I okay? Maybe. Do I know what I am doing? Absolutely not.

Intarsia(?) Help

It’s my first time doing intarsia. I had been scared away from it since watching a video a long time ago, but finally Project Hail Mary brought me to wanting to knit the wolf/fox cardigan.

I watched quite a number of videos on the basic techniques and then started to look at the chart and became quite confused on how to plan my bobbins.

Using the paw prints in the picture as an example:
Some video says NEVER mix intarsia with stranded colourwork as it would affect the fabric which seems to make sense, and instead have a new bobbin whenever there is a new colour, while some say it’s perfectly fine to carry the main colour over 1 or 2 stitches
For these paw prints, how many bobbins would you use?

One bobbin for each paw seems natural, but then there are empty lines between claws which would create quite a big(?) diagonal gap between rows when knitting back and forth. Or 4 bobbins? But that still requires carrying the yarn across rows. But I have this feeling that I am over complicating things…..

I would really appreciate people with more intarsia experience sharing their thinking process! Thank you! 🙏
