Visor Appreciation post

I genuinely really appreciate what you guys are building with Visor. It has made searching for a car so much easier for me... especially when you are looking for something super specific and keep realizing the normal sites just do not let you narrow things down properly.

Two things that would be really cool eventually:

  1. A true comparison view for two listings, almost like a table, where I can instantly see what one car has that the other is missing. Especially for cars like an M5 or RS7 where packages matter way more than trims.
  2. Historical sold cars. Not just what is listed right now, but something like: show me the last 10 M5s that sold each month, with mileage, spec, price, etc. That would make it so much easier to understand what a car is actually worth before jumping on one.

But seriously... thank you brothers. This has made what was becoming a very chaotic car search feel way more fun and way more informed.

Tips on what to lookout for Used C8 RS7

Almost there to pull a plug on used RS7 ~30k miles Non CPO 2021.

Any tips on what to look out for besides alternator recall & clean service? There are so many out there and I would love any tips to look out for (besides PPI) & choosing the right dealership/car.

Is PPI and test drive the only way to distinguish issues?

EB2 NIW Approved (Industry profile) !!!!!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my NIW approval because these posts helped me a lot while I was going through the process, especially as someone without papers/citations/patents. I even reached out to a few lawyers who post/comment here, and some of them were kind enough to give advice even though they didn’t take my case.

For context, I was also rejected by a lot of law firms initially lol, so I really didn’t start this process feeling super confident, I even did Oscar's course in between working with my lawyer who accepted my case.

My profile was not the usual research NIW profile :

  • 7 years working in tech + Masters degree
  • Non-engineering product role
  • 3 to 4 years at a well-known tech company
  • No research papers, citations, or patents
  • Business plan/proposed endeavor based case

My proposed endeavor was based on my past work across tech companies and how I planned to extend that experience into a focused business plan (keeping this high level here because I don’t want to share the exact details publicly, but happy to answer in DM if someone is in a similar boat).

I applied in October 2025 with premium processing and got an RFE on all three prongs close to ~45 business day. I did feel like I had strengths across all three, but the RFE felt much more focused on prongs 1 and 3. The main concern seemed to be around whether my individual proposed work was relevant enough to national interest (not just whether the broader area was important).

Honestly, getting the RFE was pretty disheartening. I remember reading it and feeling like... okay, maybe this is done and need to find other routes(cos I was nearing maxout h1b in Oct). Since I had no papers, no citations, I really started thinking NIW might just not be right (especially the way the officer wrote my RFE asking for it).

For the original petition, I had 8 recommendation letters (industry leaders + ppl I worked with). For the RFE response, I added 4 more letters and focused a lot more on independent reviewers who could support the business plan and proposed endeavor in more detail.

My law firm was not one of the firms that people usually talk about here (Chen/EP all rejected me). And the lawyers & paralegal did help, but I will say I had to do a lot of groundwork myself to connect my past experience, future plan, and the national interest argument (especially with the business plan - perplexity for finding references + chatgpt + oscar's stuff & reddit cases+ input from lawyers all helped). The framing had to be very intentional.

And today May 14, 2026, somehow it got approved !!

Honestly, I’m still surprised and so relieved. I had kind of given up after the RFE, so getting the approval today felt pretty unreal.

Just wanted to share this for anyone in an industry profile and feels like they have no chance because you don't see a lot of profiles like yours on reddit.. Obviously every case is different, but don’t count yourself out too early... the framing matters a lot & give it all and really ask for help!!

I still don't believe it !!!!
