Aluminium profile to diffuse cleanly 60 led/m density ?

Hello all,

I have a 10mm width LED strip with 60 led/m density (technically it's 3x60 led/m but 1 channel might be activated at a time, so I can't go for higher density, the strip is already packed).
I'm looking for a good diffuser that can avoid the "dotted" effect very common with this kind of density. Changing the strip to COB or higher density is not possible with the technology I'm using.

Most of the standard products I find are about 10mm deep with a PC cover, and that's not enough to show a uniform light line, mostly because the diffuser is cheap and thin in my opinion.

I tried a few silicone flexible channels that perform better (double diffusion layers inside), not against the idea but:

  • It's way more expensive for the light output reduction (I can accept higher price with proper diffusion and light transmission quality)
  • I still need an aluminum channel to fit it cleanly in a straight line so I need to find a matching one
  • These are usually bulkier (I wanna keep a quite narrow profile, around 10-12mm width)

I read I should use a 15mm deep channels, but not easy to find and I was hoping I could keep smaller channels with a higher optic quality.

Any tips ? Thank you !

Tennis / Badminton partner to play weekly ? M36

Hi !

I (M36) am looking for a partner to play:

  • Tennis or Badminton
  • 1 or 2 times Monday to Thursday, the goal is to target same day/hour every week
  • 1h Slot between 18h and 20h
  • Sukhumvit area (ideally around Asok/Phrom Prong). I found some great courts on soi 24, need to check ) but I can potentially be flexible
  • Level: not beginner, but not really expert either, my service is so bad lol. I'd say intermediate ?

The goal is to be regular (make it a routine), not play just from time to time when available.

Hit me up !

<2000K Very Warm Lighting for Entertainement/Luxury venues, how accurate do I have to be ?

Hello,

I am quite new to lighting design/specification for a restaurant/club of a friend and I'm struggling a bit to understand where is the sweet spot between "light accuracy" and "warm/nice feeling/mood lighting" when looking at very, very warm lighting for bars, clubs, or luxury spaces that want to go really warm to ember red before bed for example.

Note that task lighting is handled separately in this case, to ensure proper visibility on needed surfaces. This is mostly for ambient / accent lighting.

Technologically speaking:

  • it's easy for me to maintain CRI >95 with R9>85 between 2700K - 2000K
  • but 2000K is still quite white/yellow for entertainment spaces that need to go lower into ember red, especially for festive dining who want to shift mood after dinner.
  • While it's possible going lower down the blackbody locus with Red/Amber/RGB (Red+Green), I found out it becomes very hard to maintain CRI/R9/TM30 sub 2000K, as these are not "full spectrum" (little to none in this range), so the heavy lifting on accuracy has to remain on the full spectrum leds.

Here below is what I can manage to mix. I can probably improve a bit more on DUV on the lower end, but visually this looks very good and gives a "warm" saturated feeling I believe is interesting in entertainment, but I can see I'm losing accuracy.

How do professional lighting designers usually handle this ? Does it look acceptable or am completely out of touch with this hardware ?

Thank you for your help

How to get the Ombreburg Pass

  1. Start the Hangmang Parachute Challenge (located in the cliffs above Monty's cabin): it activates the parachute mode
  2. Fly on the right above the road right away
  3. Switch to another app before you miss the checkpoint, then get back to GMA2. This will kick you out of the challenge but you will keep the parachute.
  4. Press left right quite fast to go back up the mountain. Follow the slope up between the Passo Ghironda lift and the road. Some areas might be a bit steep, go sideways it helps (like in real ski)
  5. Go down the mountain without crashing and aim for the top of the Matin T Bar lift. Then follow the ridge on your right around the buildings. Be careful to not go out of bounds or you'll have to re-do everything again.
  6. Take as much speed as possible (quick left/right) then jump on the building. Easy peasy

I don't think there was a way to do it without cheese. I tried everything else. Now I can get mu 100% on Ghironda.

Enjoy !
