I went to the dentist for the first time today in 12 years

hi, I’ve never really been one to consistently post on Reddit, but I was really proud of myself so I figured I would talk about this here. I went through lots of dental neglect as a child to the point that a lot of the time I was not given water even in my adulthood (before anyone says anything, I have a disability)

today, I finally took the plunge after they were able to move my appointment from November to today! Surprisingly, they said that probably only had a couple of cavities and everything likely is OK, which really shocked me.All I had to do was a debridement and then I’m scheduled to go back and check out the rest and make sure that we don’t see any cavities, then I’m all good to go back to a six month cleaning schedule!

Sometimes my mom would not brush my teeth for months at a time so I am surprised, I even have teeth Still.

I am so much more Confident about my mouth now And grateful that nothing major is wrong with me.

For anyone curious, I am away from that situation. I now live with my partner and brush twice a day and floss. Every day

Gfs adhd sometimes really takes a toll on me

dx

we’ve been together for two years and we just recently moved in together. I love her a lot. It’s just lately. I’m super tired and I need some extra support which I don’t think she’s able to give me in this instance because she gets really self-conscious about how her ADHD can affect our relationship sometimes so I can never really talk to her about it.

She has a hard time, remembering to do a lot of things, like scheduling appointments, calling in her medication‘s, etc. I also do everything around the house with the help of my nurses (I’m physically disabled and get a nursing service to come to the house every day so that she doesn’t have to take care of me.)

And by the time my girlfriend gets home from work at the post office (usually 6 pm-7) She is exhausted.

And then I have to remind her to make her lunch so that she has enough time to get me out of the bed in the morning because my nurses don’t come until 1130 and it’s unsafe to leave me in bed for like six hours.

I’m not really sure if I want advice I just Want to know that I’m not like crazy

I love her a lot, and I don’t mean to sound like an asshole. I just don’t really know where else to get support from at this point.

Moving in with my girlfriend has been the best thing for my mental health in years

sorry if this is the wrong tag, but I didn’t see any tags for more positive posts.

I recently moved in with my Girlfriend of twoyears last month and honestly getting away from all the abuse has Made me realize the person I actually am. I know I made a couple posts in here about my anger and how it was impacting my life and now that I’m out of the abuse, it’s like all of the anger is gone.

I’m such a happy laid-back person and no longer get angry at every little thing and all it took was leaving a toxic environment. I also go Outside every day and every Once in a while, do community activities in my area.

I thought I was an angry mean individual but the abuse was just ringing out the worst in me because it was the only way I could defend myself was by verbal lashing out, since I’m disabled and can’t get out of an environment easily.

I still have work on in but I’m doing better and making progress and I’m so proud of myself. It does get better.
