Ladkiya rap kar paa rahi hain?

I don't exactly get the hate on female rappers or rappers who happen to identify as females, however you wanna put it. Seems like most of the DHH listeners specifically, want them to sound like male rappers if not like some of the international female rappers - both of which is inherently unfair and rather illogical if you think about it.

How one thinks, creates and hence raps is massively influenced by one's socialization. An individual's socialization, especially in India is predetermined by their sex at birth. So expecting a female rapper to rap like a male one might be asking them to not be who they are. That being said, a lot of them might just end up doing it anyway. But that's a different story.

Clinical/Counseling Psych PhD chances?

Hey everyone, I’m planning to apply to clinical/counseling psych PhD programs for Fall 2027 and would really appreciate a sanity check.

I recently finished an MA in counseling psych and now work in crisis/community mental health with SMI, psychosis, suicidality, and acute presentations. Research-wise, I’ve been in a qualitative psych lab for a couple years, have four manuscripts under review, and two publications from undergrad.

My interests are around serious mental illness, culture, diaspora mental health, stigma, family/religion, and South Asian communities. I’m trying to identify advisors carefully rather than apply broadly.

Would this profile read as competitive for funded clinical/counseling PhD programs? Also, would you see it as more clinical or counseling leaning? Anything you’d suggest I strengthen before applying?

How realistic is it to get into a Clinical/Counseling PhD program in one cycle of applying?

Hi everyone! I just completed my Master's in Counseling Psych and am working as a clinician with individuals experiencing SMI and Psychosis. I am prepping to apply to a Clinical/Counseling Psych PhD program for Fall 27 but from what I've heard, it's difficult to get into a program in just one cycle. How true is that?

I have 2 published papers from my undergrad and 4 under review manuscripts from my Master's.

Best cold email approach?

I’m applying to clinical/counseling psych PhD programs in the US and have been cold emailing prospective supervisors. I usually try to mention something specific from their recent work and connect it to my own background/interests, but it takes me forever — and I worry it may also be a lot to read.

For those who’ve done this before, what actually worked for you? Did very tailored emails get better responses, or did shorter, more direct ones work just as well?

Also, did you attach your CV/resume right away, or only send it if they asked? I’d love to hear what got replies and what didn’t.

What makes you read a cold email?

I’m applying to psychology PhD programs and have been emailing prospective supervisors before applying. My current approach is to mention something specific from a recent paper or project of theirs, then briefly explain how my background and research interests connect to their work.

I’m trying to figure out the right balance. From a faculty perspective, are these more tailored emails useful, or do they become too much to read when applicants over-explain the fit? Would a shorter, more direct email usually be better?

Also, is it standard to attach a CV/resume in the first email, or is that better sent only if the faculty member asks? I’d appreciate any advice on what makes these emails genuinely helpful rather than generic or excessive.

Clinical/Counseling PhD folks, where you at?

Hey everyone! I’m planning to apply to Clinical and Counseling Psychology PhD programs for Fall 2027 and would love to connect with others going through the process. My background is in counseling psychology (MA), with research focused on mental health in diaspora communities and clinical work with individuals experiencing serious mental illness; I’m also an international student navigating the application process. If you’re applying this cycle too, feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect and share notes along the way.

PropheC, Sardool Sikander - Maula

Given this was Sardool's last major collaboration and how PropheC's style of music compliments what Sardool did best (although he was hella good in all he did), I find it sad that not a lot of people caught onto this song. Sucks that it's still slept on.
