Anyone feel like they’re doing something wrong because you’re not lost or overwhelmed???

This is genuinely nothing against the folks that are overwhelmed, but at my school, so many 1Ls have lamented the readings and how it’s so much and how they don’t understand. I do not feel this way literally at all. It’s so much easier than I thought it was going to be and I’m honestly confused how you COULD be behind already (we’re just finishing our second week). It’s a lot of reading, but if you manage your time well, it’s genuinely not that bad. I finish all of my work mostly before class and during lunch. I have all of after class free to do whatever I want.

I might change my tune later in the year, but I’ve already heard people in my class complaining it’s too much. This is coming from someone who struggled in undergrad with finishing my work. How are you guys falling behind??? What.

My professors are so impressed with how engaged i am in class

“Wow,” they think, “she’s going to do so well on the exam because she asks so many important questions.” They continue to think about me after class. “She must know what she’s talking about, she’s so confident. She even comes to office hours and asks for clarification. Certainly she’s going to be in the top 10%.”

Come exam time, I finish every exam with 5 minutes to spare. I hand my test in with a smile on my face. The professor thinks, “I’m so excited to grade hers.” I start winter break with a step in my pep.

First semester grades come out. I answered wrong on every single question. In fact, I spelled my name incorrectly. The professor thinks, “This has never happened in the history of the law school. No genuinely, how is this even possible.”

They bring me to the basement of the school and I am never seen again.

1L next week. i have a few questions!!

  1. what’s the best seat in class?
  2. how many law students are rocking a full bush?
  3. how do i address my professors?
  4. should i take notes on my laptop or paper? or both?
  5. i’m part of the “no shoes” movement. how acceptable between 1 and 10 (1 being unacceptable, 10 being encouraged) is this?
  6. i exclusively wear skims nipple bras. will this be an issue?
  7. when do you workout?
  8. some past partners have said i have a certain “strong” “ocean-like” “aroma”. will this be an issue for nearby seat mates?
  9. how many coffees a day is normal?
  10. is a little pit hair peaking out ok? be honest.
  11. I forgot this question

[sun care] i’m always getting sunscreen in my eyes!!! help!!!

i have not a lot of hair on my body and the hair i do have is very fine. like my eyebrows are not stopping my sweat from dripping in my eyes, and my eyelashes are short and not doing much either. i used to (as in two weeks ago) put sunscreen on my eyelids but my friends told me that was why i was getting sunscreen in my eyes so i started stopping at my eyebrows. it has helped somewhat, but i still get some in my eyes.

even if i wait like 20 minutes before going outside, i still sweat my sunscreen and it’ll probably go in my eyes. am i applying it wrong? should i be using a different sunscreen? the sunscreen i’m using is the neutrogena ultra sheer dry-touch sunscreen

ETA: i’m putting about a quarter’s worth of sunscreen on my face (probably more?? i’m bad with sizes)

TIA!!!

Resident’s Life on TLC

father’s day is coming up and i’d really like to make this happen for my dad if possible. my dad was a resident at Vanderbilt and was one of the residents in this show. it’d be so cool for me to somehow get a copy of the show or even an episode!! so far, i’ve only been able to find the intro and nothing else. i think it was filmed in 2002 and aired in 2003. a couple of questions:

  1. what’s the best person to contact for this? producer? director? Vanderbilt???

  2. is this even realistic? it’s been over 20 years and before the internet was really a thing lol

  3. any directions/tips you can help me with?

thank you!
