I was gifted these today in a box of old hymnals, a few very small - about 4 inches high x 3 wide - leather bound saddle stitched books.

Hi all, I have used olive oil and many other products from Gus Sclafani Imports and have always been pleased with the quality. This one was a great buy at my local store, $24.99 so I was pretty excited to grab one and may go back and buy another

Many Sclafani products are imported from Italy , and olive oil under this brand sometimes from Italy and sometimes from Spain or Greece . I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with olive oil from Tunisia? Or would this one specifically?

BTW, All of the tins look basically the same.

I haven't read any Heany in a while. Just picked up Poems 1965-1975 this one was right there on page one. The intergenerational comparison really struck me as well as a sense of sadness And something lost, that really spoke to me.

I suppose it helps to be Irish. But I think most anyone can relate.

If you're going to collect, I've always felt it was a good strategy to collect things that not that many other people are interested in. I was able to pick up these first American editions. Hardcovers of all four of the novels in the Runaway Horses "cycle". I love reading! Mishima and I did struggle through this lengthy series and I've reread Spring Snow a couple of times.

I've been able to find several other Mishima firsts, but was particularly happy to accumulate these four since they are less popular titles. They took a little more looking.

I'm always on the lookout for books about New England history, interaction with the native Americans, and the industrial development of New England.

I recently came across this one, a. First-person narrative reinterpreted by the individuals 's great great great descendant, who cleared up archaic language, the thees and thous, and abbreviations. It seems there are quite a few of these narratives of capture by native Americans and later escape or release, I am sure they made for harrowing. If not, race-bated reading back in the 17 and 1800 s

I received this lovely gift tea from Chinese relatives. The packaging is over the top beautiful. A chest like a box fitted into a custom-made bag with three boxes of tea packets inside. The tea itself is in individual packets, is very fine needle like tea, I'm guessing 100% buds. It appears to be " green tea" with a reddish color.

If anybody has any information on this tea, I'd sure love to hear about it.

I love narrative histories. Am not familiar with this author but I loved the look and feel of this book so I grabbed it for $2. So far a very interesting read.

I got in a nice contribution to our archive: a charming homemade scrapbook with about 15 years of newspaper clippings, with their date lines, pasted onto course paper. All are pretty fragile and yellowed, the paste seems to be holding up. My thought is to make scans, perhaps interleaf with acid free tissue and basically leave it as is. I welcome any ideas. We have limited resources.

Books on iron. The history of iron, early iron production. I became interested in this because of where I live. Many years ago, iron was produced here by primitive means. There are scars and signs here and there in the landscape.

It was a very different world.

Some of my Robert Graves books some are first edition, I, Claudius is a Modern Library. The blue one is Count Belisarius, there's a few more, I'll have to get them all in one place sometime.
