Sunday Saver August

I Received a text message saying that Sunday saver would be running yesterday the 09/08/2026. But it looks as though it had ended. I rinsed it for everything it was worth but now worried that it may have been sent in error.

I understand that the funds will be credited to my account by the 13th of August. I haven’t had any credits yet, Has anyone else?

Lost my first hen today

Lost my first hen to a fox today 😢

Fluffy foot our Devon bronze. She had got out of our garden through a gap in the fence and I found her feathers down by the stream.

The other 4 hens are fine and no sign of a struggle in our garden so I have patches up the gap in the fence and secured them in the run.

It’s really sad, she was cantankerous but knew what she wanted and I respected her for it.

it’s my first foray into chicken keeping and they had only just started laying. I wanted to give them the best life by allowing them to free range but the harsh realities of predators have humbled me.

Not sure what the next steps are, if anyone has any advice or wants to raise a glass to fluffy foot I’d appreciate it.

Day 3 of Chicken ownership and I have my first wound.

Picked up 5 point of lay pullets this weekend and I have them a good inspection on collection and they all seemed fine. This morning I noticed one of the girls pecking at her wing watched her for a bit and could see a wound. I managed to grab her to take a closer look and this photo but I’m not sure what to do. I have sprayed it with Nettex wound spray but I am new to all of this and looking for advice.

Thanks

Is this Himalayan Balsam?

I have blankets of the stuff growing around a stream and pond. It has pink roots and only sits on the surface making it easy to pull. No flowers on it yet which makes it hard to identify and the stem looks different to Himalayan balsam.

So I recently inherited a Stihl 024. Current bar and chain seem a little blunt and worn so I would like to replace.

I am struggling to find something compatible and seeing that 16inch bars seem more common for chains so considering upgrading.

What would you recommend, the very faded information on the bar is:

.325” 00.63” 62 links. The clutch is a seven sided spur.

Thinking semi chisel, I will be using this for a variety of tasks around my acreage.
