Rei is (not) real, she can (not) hurt you.

This is a third party (aka unlicensed) figure by Box Studio. It's their BOX-005B, and their third Evangelion heroine. Mari and Asuka both have dolls, too! This, technically, is not Rei, but a doll that is cosplaying her. And I don't care! All I see is a gorgeous and realistic Rei action figure in cute-cool street wear.

Reviewing *Unlicensed* Box Studio BOX-005B (Radio Eva Rei -long hair ver.)

My first post here is gonna be a review of this Box Studio doll/action figure. Forgive the censored bg, these photos were taken at a relative's house. Gotta respect privacy! This is a 1:6 scale figure, but it's not actually in scale with Rei. It would be a lot smaller if it was. A bit of a tangent, but I was surprised to see how small the 1/2.5 scale Rei was until I remembered she's a child. Lol.

The box was your standard 3rd party Chinese action figure box. Compact, with everything secured in carved layers of black foam.

Out of the box, you have some very minor but also very major assembly. You have to put her head sensors into her scalp. This is complicated by the fact the pegs DO NOT FIT. Two big rectangular prisms prevent progress. The metal is soft, so you can cut it at an angle with even cheap nippers. Remember eye safety! Wear goggles!

At a glance, the figure is high quality. The face is gorgeous, with ash brown eyebrows, dark eye makeup, round and bright red eyes, a small nose, and her mouth has cool pink lipgloss. Her hair is a combination of light blue and bright blue strands. It's soft, long and wavy. Her bangs are cut at a obtuse angle at the very end, and there are small fringe pieces to frame her face.

Her eyes can be moved with lil nubs, and access is granted via scalping.

This Rei is wearing one of the Radio Eva Fila collab outfits. This one has a military green trench coat with black lace starting halfway down the back, lots of patches, pull strings, pockets and a zipper. The patches are references to the series. The coat has a hood, but her long hair gets in the way.

Underneath the coat is a white long sleeve shirt with FILA printed in black across it. The Fila logo has a white pattern made of Eva unit heads inside it. Her pants are black, with a small "Evangelion" printed on the top left side. The shirt covers this up. Her ankle socks are yellow, and her chunky sneakers are white with a rainbow stripe in the middle. They say FILA at the back.

I mentioned that she's a high quality figure at a glance earlier, and she is. At a glance. Her body is cheap. A rubber chest and midriff with hard limbs make up this cheap, rough, and kinda unfinished body. It is completely hidden under her clothes...but as a doll...i wanna dress her up. I want her to look good in any outfit I put her in, but this body looks so not good. It isn't anything unfixable, but it requires a lot of patience and skill to fix. This is the only complaint I have...well, her feet are stuck in her sneakers. Those are the only two complaints. Everything else is gorgeous!

If you can find this figure for under $200, I would definitely recommend her. She's great, and even with a cheap body, it poses well and can stand up on it's own.

Oh she comes with a face mask. Its white, stretchy, and has a light blue 00 on the left side. I really like it and I display her with it.

Thank you for reading! I haven't really seen any english reviews for this figure, only the other two Eva girls. They didn't have the best faces, did that have anything to do with her lack of reviews? The world may never know. Back on track, I decided to make this review to fill in the blank. I hope it reaches the people who need it.

Box Studio: Radio Eva Long-Hair Ayanami Rei 1/6 scale figure

Lots of photos! I haven't seen anyone post any photos of this girl online, so I ended up buying her to post some. This is -in my opinion- the best face that Box Studio has done. Their previous releases, Mari and Asuka, had a elf like appeal that many others and I didn't like. This one is a lot cuter, even better than the promo photos!

The head has two holes for the head sensors to plug into, but the sensors dont fit. I ended up cutting them at an angle to get them in there. Other than that, the scalp detaches to allow the mask to hook on easier.

I ordered the long hair version, and I'm glad I did. This hair is gorgeous. It has a mixture of light and dark blue wefts, so it has a nice depth. Its soft, too!

The body is a hard plastic- but the chest is rubber. I would liken it to a Real Action Heroes figure in terms of flexibility, aka it's great!

The clothing is definitely the best part. This is a colab with a fashion brand, so there is an expectation of excellence here. You can see all the various patches and zippers and ties are all real, and real nice. The jacket comes off revealing a white, long sleeve shirt underneath. Everything is well made, from head to toe, and I adore this figure.

Tldr: if you want it, get it. Its good!

Adding more Rei to my collection!

I got these Rei for $10 each! Except for the music box, that one was $30. I found them from a bargain seller and got them so cheap because they were all damaged and missing their bases. I cleaned them up, repainted a few details, and now I'm ready to display everyone in the shrine.

Dr. Hatsune, by me!

This is my first post here, hello everyone! Summer is the time for children's hospital fundraising, so I've had pediatricians on my mind. There is a lot of art of nurse Miku but less of scrub Miku, and I cannot let that stand without doing my part! I am proud of how I did the hair, but a little insecure about the guitar. I should've spent more time on it...but I'm lazy. I'll do better next time.

I drew my hunter in Great Jaggi blademaster armor (OC)

Obligatory Aough ough ough ough ouh outta the way, I am joining the masses that want this fashionable set to return to the series. Our darling, our beloved, our purple and pink frilled king must come back to us. Pretty please with a dragonfell berry on top?
