Got called "anti-national" for carrying a steel water bottle instead of buying plastic bottles every day

I was traveling by train yesterday and took out my steel water bottle to refill it at the station.

A guy sitting nearby started lecturing me about how people like me are "destroying businesses" by not buying packaged water.

I thought he was joking. He wasn't.

He spent the next 15 minutes explaining how buying plastic bottles is somehow patriotic because it "supports the economy."

Another passenger joined in and said, "Then by that logic, breaking your phone every week is also patriotic."

The entire compartment started laughing.

The original guy got angry, got off at the next station, and left behind... a half-empty plastic water bottle.

Peak public transport experience.
