School uniform - cycling shorts under skirts?

Hi folks - got a meeting with the school soon so will ask then but it's really bugging me and wanted to see if I'm missing something obvious.

Daughter is starting school this year, getting all the details for reception through including uniform requirements.

It's very explicit in all of the guides that cycling shorts etc under skirts or dresses are NOT permitted for the girls to wear.

This seems kind of wild to me and I can't think of a sensible reason why that would be the case? Is it just because it's not "proper"? Anyone else have similar rules with their kids and know a legit reason?

My 4 year old is not the best at hiding her modesty when she plays bless her, and hey why should she be, enjoy yourself. But we tend to have a pair of shorts on under dresses etc for comfort and decency.

Gateway games for kids?

We play a lot of board games in our family, most Sundays have a game night with my in laws.

My daughter is nearly 5 and keeps asking to play. Yesterday we played Quacks of Quedlinburg and she was desperate to get involved (although mostly I think to play with the rubies)

I want her to take an interest in this hobby of ours and hopefully she will play with us when she's older, but obviously she's a bit young yet for many games! Shes mostly just obsessed with Guess Who!!

So parents who game with your kids, what are the best games I can start to look out for to play with 5yo and up?

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions so far!! I'm having to start work now (boooo) but I promise I am taking note of all the recommendations and will be checking them all out! Excited to get some game time in with my girl. Appreciate y'all

Got fit recently for some new irons having used late 90s hand me downs for years. Fitter had access to Ping, Titleist, TaylorMade

Came away with a recommendation for the G440 irons, blue dot

Now I had the intention of buying them but I could also get Callaway Elyte irons through their outlet for HALF the cost of the ping.

I'm a bit torn now because I couldn't try Callaway at my fitting so haven't hit the Elyte before - it's also a today only deal... I did really like the G440 but I can't deny the saving haha

I'm a high 20s handicap, play regularly and looking for clubs that help me now but will continue to be appropriate long term.

Anyone have either or tried both? What would you do?

Ping that you've been fitted for a grand, or take a gamble on the Elyte for about 550?
