Need help figuring out what to do with ill fitting knits from my grandma!
My grandma unfortunately knits garments that are ill fitting, by that I mean collars that don't sit right, arms that are too short, and other such things that makes it uncomfortable to wear even if you can put it on, however I don't want to just donate or toss these items as they're made by my grandma, and frankly I don't know how long she'll be around anymore, she's already lost her ability to knit so what I have is all I'll ever have.
I can't knit, I don't know anyone else who can either, but I can sew, and if possible I'd love to rework the sweaters into something wearable, or maybe even a scarf or a blanket! I'm coming here to ask for help on how to do this, such how can I keep it from unraveling? Is sewing down some fabric on the inside/back of it enough to keep it secure? Any tips, tricks, and ideas, are greatly appreciated!
