They seem to have split up but it seems like their might be some animosity there as they were running identical but competing events (neighborhood yard sales, Valentine’s Day giveaways, etc)
I feel like if it was amicable they wouldn’t be doing this.
Can we get a daily/weekly pinned discussion thread or something that serves the subreddit better than the current 2-month-old and irrelevant threads that are currently pinned?
Sometimes I want to post things to this subreddit but don't because I ultimately decide they don't need their own thread.
He passed in 2023 at 100. We think he was the last surviving crew member of the USS Pampanito.
Family visited the boat earlier this weekend and found he was added to the end of a book they sell there..
Here's a photo of the last time I visited the USS Pampanito with him back in 2016. Local news came out and did a segment on him.
They even opened the conning tower for him and he was able to climb up there at 93. He'd tell me stories of going outside of it to fix things. Or about the time they rescued a bunch of Australians. But you really had to work it out of him. He never offered the info on his own.

Someone on tiktok told me you could tap in with a credit card. I didn't believe them but I tried it at 7th and Metro today and IT WORKED!
