Booked Seltos HTX ADAS IVT on 2nd May — 56 day commitment, zero updates, suspicious "shortage" story. What's actually going on?

Long post but I need genuine advice. Been following up on my Kia Seltos HTX ADAS IVT (petrol) booking since 2nd May and the situation is getting frustrating and honestly a bit fishy.

The timeline so far:

  • 2nd May — Booked HTX ADAS IVT petrol, dealership gave a 56-day delivery commitment
  • Recent call — They say a fire at the Kia plant caused delays, receiving only ~30 cars per lot instead of 100
  • Last week — Offered a black HTX ADAS IVT diesel. Rejected (obviously, I want petrol)
  • 3 days ago — Offered a red HTX ADAS IVT petrol. Also rejected (wrong colour)
  • Today — No confirmed date, no ETA, just "wait karo, factory mein problem hai"

Here's what doesn't add up — and I mean multiple things:

Problem 1 — The shortage story vs. the offers: If the plant fire is causing such a severe shortage that they can't fulfill a 2-month-old booking, how are they getting diesel AND petrol HTX ADAS units to offer me? They clearly have some allocation coming in — just not my specific colour/fuel combo. That tells me this is less about a genuine shortage and more about them managing inventory or trying to push me toward something they already have in stock.

Problem 2 — It's been a MONTH. Where is my car physically? This one hit me recently. I booked on 2nd May. It's been almost 37 days. The Kia plant in Anantapur, AP manufactures cars that then go into a logistics and transport pipeline before reaching dealers. That pipeline itself typically takes 2–3 weeks. So realistically, a car booked in early May should either already be at the dealership or somewhere in transit by now — not still sitting on a factory floor affected by a fire that happened weeks ago. The timeline just doesn't add up.

I'm not saying the fire didn't happen — it did make news — but using it as a blanket excuse 5+ weeks after booking, with zero specific update, feels off.

My real problem right now:

I need to leave for college around 5th–6th July. That's roughly 4 weeks away. The dealer is giving zero guarantee on a delivery date.

So I'm stuck between:

  1. Book my travel tickets now and potentially miss delivery
  2. Keep waiting, delay booking tickets, end up paying expensive last-minute fares
  3. Cancel this booking and go elsewhere (but lose time + possibly the negotiated discount)

What I want to know:

  • Is anyone else facing similar Seltos delivery delays right now?
  • Is the "fire at plant → reduced lots" explanation legitimate or a dealership tactic?
  • If they can offer me two units I didn't ask for, shouldn't my original booking have priority over newer customers?
  • What are my actual rights here — can I escalate to Kia India directly and what happens if I do?

Any advice from people who've dealt with this kind of dealership runaround would genuinely help. Getting anxious with the college deadline approaching. 🙏

TL;DR: 56-day commitment on Seltos HTX ADAS IVT petrol, 37 days in, no confirmed date, blaming plant fire — but somehow offering me other variants. Also, after a full month, my car should logically be in transit or at the dealer already, not "stuck at the factory." Have to leave for college in ~4 weeks. What do I do?

22 Lakh should I upgrade and drop ADAS?

So i've booked Seltos htx adas ivt varient on 2nd may and yesterday when i called they said fire breakout in the plant so deliveryies might get delayed , he said to keep options so
HTX ADAS IVT : 21.8 Lakhs~ after discount 21.4~
GTX IVT : 22.3 Lakhs~ after discount 21.9~
So main questin is should i opt for top varient by adding anather 40k but compromisng adas, is adas actually worth it in india we are planning to keep the car for long term

Booked a Kia Seltos HTX ADAS IVT on 2nd May. Got a call yesterday saying there was a fire breakout at the plant, so deliveries are getting delayed. The dealer asked me to keep options open and suggested looking at the GTX IVT as an alternative.

Here's the breakdown:

Variant Price After Discount
HTX ADAS IVT ~₹21.8L ~₹21.4L
GTX IVT ~₹22.3L ~₹21.9L

So the GTX is roughly ₹50K more but no ADAS.

My main question: Is ADAS actually worth it in Indian conditions?

Context: planning to keep the car long term (7-10 years probably).

TLDR: Pay ₹50K more for top trim but lose ADAS — worth it for long-term ownership in India?

Anyone driving the Seltos with or without ADAS, would love real-world inputs. Especially highway drivers. 🙏 (used ai to reframe)

Cybersecurity placements need honest advice from seniors 🙏

Getting spammed by the GOD BLESS YOU MA MAILS , Had a few questions and would really appreciate seniors who've been through placements to share their experience:

1. Do any cybersecurity-specific companies visit our campus for placements?

Like actual security firms not just TCS/Infosys with a "cybersecurity" tag slapped on a generic role. Talking about companies like Certcube Labs, CloudSEK, Securonix, Paladion, or even Big 4 security teams (Deloitte, EY, KPMG cyber divisions).

2. For cyber-specific roles do they actually test DSA/LeetCode?

I've been going deep on TryHackMe, ISC2 CC certification, Kali Linux, and building security projects on GitHub. But now I'm second-guessing myself — should I be grinding LeetCode and Codeforces alongside this? Or is that a waste of time for cyber roles specifically?

3. Any companies you'd recommend applying to off-campus for cyber internships?

Currently doing:

- ISC2 CC certification (free, exam by June)

- TryHackMe Cybersecurity 101

- Python security projects on GitHub

- Learning Kali Linux basics

Just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious that seniors already know. Any advice, even "bro you're wasting your time" is welcome 😅

What is best option to go for
should be automatic
crossover / suv
petrol
budget : 20 lakhs can be stretched up to 22 lakhs

I did some research and have these do in mind
KIA Seltos htx(a) at turbo
KIA Seltos gtx at turbo

Also does having a BH number plate will give any benefit like instead of paying upfront 2 lakhs can be paid in installments
