29M - ADHD and Neurodivergent

What could be some good career paths for me to pivot to? I'm currently working as an accountant and it is draining the soul out of me.

IWTL percentages

I want to learn to be better at calculating percentages. I'm not that smart and always would struggle with math by either failing or just passing. I've somehow landed up a job as an accountant and need it for my job now. I understand the easy basics like 20% of 100 is 20, but when it's like there's an invoice of 2,500 and tax of 17.5% is built in this, so calculate the tax now and my brain just goes like wait what? Please can anyone help easily make me understand? I've seen the youtube tutorials and online courses but they're either too advanced or just the too basic ones for kids.

29M | Karachi | Childfree, DINK lifestyle

To my dearest future wife/love/humsafar/best friend,

I believe love is never in the highs, as the highs are only temporary, love is in the quiet moments. I want to choose the boring days with you, for that is I feel where love actually grows. I want to have water fights in the kitchen. I want to cook meals together, I want to build a space with you and have a peaceful home. I want to choose you in your big Tshirt and Pajamas. I want to get to know you deeply, from the roots and not just the bright flower that you are, so just know that when autumn comes I will still love you.
Me?
I am 5'1, 42 kgs, healthy yet imperfect. Just human, a soul, corporate slave navigating my way through life. I work a job that let's me survive in this dunya and studying for a qualification for better survival. But that is only what I do to earn money, I do not want that to define me as life is much more than that.
I meditate, do yoga everyday, it keeps me grounded, peaceful, healthy and if you'd enjoy that would love you to join me. I'm not a practicing Muslim, but deeply influenced by spirituality.

29M | KHI | Looking for my fellow meditator!

Height: 5'1
Weight: 42 kg
Education: O/A Levels, Studying for my ACCA
Career: Working in Finance at an MNC for 2 years now.
Religion: Family is Sunni. I'm not a practicing Muslim, I practice my Kriya yoga daily and consider myself to be a spiritual seeker. I believe Religion and spirituality is a very personal matter between oneself and God and respect everyone's belief and faith.
Personality: Introvert and simple. Love being at home. Known as the quiet guy everywhere. Struggle being around huge crowds not knowing how to act. Live a simple lifestyle.
Interests: Entrepreneurship, huge fan of Shark Tank and love hearing business stories of people creating their own ventures. Used to be a movie buff having watched all kinds of cinema with different languages and genres but don't get time anymore. Big on Yoga and Meditation as I truly believe it is the only way I can keep yourself sane for few minutes everyday in this hustle productivity focused mindless consumerism society and disassociate yourself from this matrix.
Views on marriage: I believe marriage is a beautiful institution and that it should be 50 50 where both work, do chores together, basically build a life together and be a safe space for each other. I'm looking for a partner who I can DINK with and live a child free lifestyle. I do like children but I don't feel the world is a good place rn to raise a child.
Preferred family setup: Nuclear, if we can afford it, Independence and freedom for both me and my spouse is very important to me.

I'm just looking for a best friend I am comfortable with, and can meditate and dance with. Looking to get married in 1-2 years (flexible). Que Sera Sera.
I feel like our generation overanalyzes relationships. People are always looking for someone who's "perfect" or chasing excitement, but no one is perfect. We all come with flaws, and that's what makes us human. The excitement eventually fades, but acceptance and being content with each other can build something meaningful.

How do you date as an introvert?

This is a genuine question, not a rant.

I'm an introvert and we live in a fairly conservative society where dating isn't exactly as straightforward as "go to a bar" or "download an app and meet 10 people this week." Most people meet through friends, family, university or school.

The problem is that I'm not naturally outgoing or talkative or good at making small talk with a wee bit of social anxiety. All introverts can relate I'm sure.

At the same time, I genuinely am longing to meet someone. Just hoping to find a meaningful connection with someone who's kind, emotionally mature, and interested in building something real.

For fellow introverts here - how did you meet your partner or start dating in Pakistan? Did you intentionally put yourself out there at university or work? Use apps? Join communities I do not know about? Rely on mutual friends?

I'd love to hear real experiences and practical advice because right now it feels like everyone is either already taken or maybe hidden indoors like me.

Thanks in advance!

SBL - Sep 2026

Hi,
People who've been through SBL, I'm planning to attempt it in Sep 2026 alongside FM (if I fail FM in June 2026).
How should I study for it?
Which study text/exam kit to do BPP or Kaplan?
Should I go for tutor? I've heard of Sir Hasan Dossani.
Is there sufficient time for it for September? I work at a very demanding startup (60 hrs per week) where we're also working weekends sometimes.
And those of you who passed it in the first attempt how did you study for it?
Please help an overthinking brother out. Thanks.

Brushing teeth before/after Shambhavi?

Hi,
Just wanted to know regarding brushing teeth, do you guys do it before or after you're done with the practice?
Just feel if I do it before, could it somehow break the empty stomach condition if some toothpaste goes in accidentally?
Or am I just overthinking?

Installation Pause

We were about to have our solar installed today. We're not going for net-metering. but the team pointed out we have the reverse earthing light on our electricity meter. We're not sure whether it is due to KE wiring or our house wiring issue. We checked our neighbor's they also have it on btw.
Should we wait and get this resolved before installing solar? Is there any way around? I'm also not fully sure of consequences of this as I'm not that technical.

Overwhelmed with chaos

I mean is it just me?
It it just pure chaos right now and I'm feeling so overwhelmed.
At a macro level, AI is eating up jobs, everyday there's news of some company laying off or about to layoff x thousand number of people. there is so much anxiety and constant pressure to constantly keep upskilling yourself to keep your job,
Then there's these wars going on, Cost of living keeps rising while salaries are same even though you're working so hard and in so much pressure. Weekends, public holidays you name it and we're working like slaves just to survive. It costs me 500 rupees just one way to reach my workplace right now and that is insane.
Your health is suffering because your food is not organic, it's fertilizers, pesticides and what not with soil losing its content and the food losing it's nutrition.
The heat outside is killing and makes everyday commute miserable, especially on a bike with so much sand in your face and feeling dehydrated everyday.
You go to eat out or buy clothes, just basic stuff but feel guilty while all you did was spend on your basics.
You want to do things for your parents, like take them out for a nice dinner or for travel but you just can't keep with how expenses are rising.
You want to get married but you're not sure of how you'll be able to take care of another person in this economy, you've worked for a few years in your job but still can not afford a ring for your future wife because they're so expensive now.
Hate is so widespread and everybody seems to be at each others throats, no respect for human life and different point of views. Women hate men, people attacking each other based on religion, everyone judging one another like extroverts judging introverts and what not.
People are bitter and angry everyday and projecting that energy onto others. Your workplace, your house, everywhere feels toxic. You do not remember the last time you were hugged or cared for, or someone cared for you genuinely. Someone while shouting at me sarcastically said 'chanda' and though he was angry at me and shouting, but that word just somehow touched my heart in that moment and I felt a bit teary because nobody has called me that (I know wth). xD
There's a loneliness epidemic with us spending our lives more in our heads and on our phones than in real life. Making genuine and authentic connections feels like a fantasy at this point.
I just want it to be over, like not in a sad way, but to be FREE.
TLDR; I am just tired with everyday chaos in Karachi and life in general.
