How do I ground my Signal in battery driven synths?

Hey there, I have a little project coming up where I want to build a little drum thing for a friend. I thought about the picocore and the MKI Kickdrum, in a box because both can be run on battery and the friend of mine does not have a modular system. The picocore runs with an 1,5 volt battery and the kickdrum can be run with two 9V batteries. But I am not sure how to deal with the grounding of the jack sockets. Because in the pico core (0v - 1,5v) the ground is just the 0v pole of the battery. But because the kickdrum is symmetric in power (0v - 9v - 18v) the ground sits at 9v.
For the signal this is no problem, due to decoupling capacitors, but what about the ground? Is it enough to just have the sleeve of the jack connected to the metal front or to the 0v of both circuits (feels wrong) or do I use a decoupling capacitor there as well?

Thanks for help:)

Is the Micro-USB slot of the Pico very sensitive or are there software issues on Mac?

I tried to change a some parts of a software I found on GitHub. Because it has lots of dependencies I used cmake to build it, get the pi in bootsel mode and upload it.

But because of debugging I had to do it a couple times. After 3 times the pi did not show up anymore. I rebooted my Mac and tried again, the first time that worked, after that I were not able anymore to upload anything to the pi. It’s not found as a usb device. I tried multiple cables, hubs, directly on the Mac, pressed the bootsel button long.

Now I am curious, is the usb port that delicate? And when I buy a new pi, is there any option to upload compiled firmware again, without de-connecting. Or is there maybe any software issues with the newest Mac version? Thanks for any help!

Oh and if you know any other subreddits where this fits better or can be crossposted, let me know :)

Which jack type is this?

I bought this old german oscilloscope today. The other plugs are probably for banana cables, but what are the other? Thank you for help:)

I don’t get why people say „DIY will be more expensive in the long run“

Maybe I overlook something, but I read sentences a lot like „in the end you will pay more for diy“ or „don’t diy because of money, it’s not that cheaper“. And I don’t really get it.

It’s soooo much cheaper (and more fun, at least for me). Especially when you don’t buy kits. I am about to pay 350€ but not for a single module but 20. (Clouds, Marbles, Rings, Braids, a noise based lfo, a clock module, and four of my own designs of utility modules. Every module twice) I know that case is a little extrem, but I had some cash extra this month so I use it to have a stock here.
I know something could go wrong but most components are so cheap, I have spare ones in case something breaks. Because jlcpcb just sells in 5 packs there are enough pcbs to mess up.

So why don’t diy if your poor (and have the time and fun doing it)

Sorry for my little rant but I am genuinely confused^^

Hey, I am in the process of developing a Game and wanted to make the Game Accessible for everyone.

A couple things seem clear to me (like caring about contrast over colours for distinguishing between Items and stuff, or making the game accessible for screen readers) but I probably overlook certain parts.

If you ever got the feeling that a game had cool accessibility features or did it completly wrong, which game and why? If youre blind, deaf, colourblind or disabled in other ways that can make it hard to play a certain game, what do you wish for in Games?

Glad about every feedback :)
