Any Telegram channels where the news breaks before mainstream media catches it?

I'm looking for news and events related to all things India and globally. Anything you follow where an incident, an event, or a conversation breaks out as soon as it happens.

I’m not surprised by the Ketan-Siya story. In fact, we’ll keep hearing of more such stories.

Ketan was 26, and his fiancée Siya is 20. That’s a 6-year-gap, and it was not a love marriage. It was an arranged-marriage setup.

Ketan was a director and chief marketing officer in his family-run real estate firm, and Siya’s family is in the dry fruits trade. Since, the familied had booked a palace in Jaipur for ₹17 crore for their wedding and arranged two private planes to fly guests in, they both come from rich families.

To me, this fits a familiar and ugly pattern: “Let’s get our kids married, spend lavishly, and set a benchmark for everyone else. BONUS: Huge dowry, gifts, and status.”

I’ve seen one such marriage in my own family, where the boy was 21, and the girl was underage. The boy’s mother emotionally blackmailed him into marriage just because she couldn’t say NO to a rich family’s proposal and the ‘Lakshmi’ the girl would bring along.

They married, with heavy security forces covering the venue, in case someone tipped off the police.

Ketan's father has said that if Siya didn't want the marriage, she could have simply refused, and they'd have called it off. Maybe, though I doubt that!

I suspect, even in Ketan-Siya case, expensive gifts, heavy budgets, and social status would have forced Ketan or Siya or both of them to agree for the marriage, even when they were not ready for it.

I read at least 20 such stories every day on Reddit, where parents push their children to marry whosoever they can. Sometimes it’s greed. Sometimes it’s social comparison. Sometimes, it’s the societal burden.

And that pressure is sometimes aggressive, sometimes emotional, which forces people into decisions in the heat of the moment.

Whatever the courts finally conclude, nothing can bring Ketan back.

But until parents stop chasing dowry, status, and their own ambitions through their children's weddings, I fear stories like this will keep repeating.

Looking for no-code website options for my side consultancy business.

Hey, I want to quickly launch a website to offer tax consultancy services that I offer as a side hustle. I already have the copy and framework ready, but I need a website where I don't have to pay anything for hosting or domain.

I'm okay with a subdomain and a basic design, since I want to ship it fast rather than waiting for a perfect landing page.

Can anyone help with some tried n tested options?

Looking to upgrade my bicycle (Budget ₹12K)

This is the current bicycle I have - Tracker Popstar. Decent for my 3-days a week cycling schedule. But now since I have built a routine, I want to upgrade my bicycle so that it helps me improve my fitness and workout schedule.

My budget is ₹10K but if I get value for money, I can stretch it to ₹15,000. I'm comvinced on Decathalon Riverside 120, but I want other options as well. How about Hero or Avon?

Some features I'm seeking:

* Frame: aluminium (alloy)

* Tyres: 28–35mm

* Brakes: disc

* Fit and frame size: 54-56 cm

Please provide me brutal and honest feedback on my cycling progress

The goal is not fat loss. I just want to build stamina and physical endurance as a replacement for gym workouts. I’m looking for brutal feedback on whether this is actually good progress, or if I’m simply getting too comfortable in my own skin and overestimating it.

  • Age - 30
  • Gender - Male
  • Weight - 68 KG
  • Diet - Vegetarian
  • Height - 5"7'

I usually try to clock around 15–16 kms in an hour on my cycle. Today I pushed myself further and completed 22 kms. Since it was a holiday, I started cycling at 3 AM just to avoid traffic and enjoy a longer uninterrupted ride.

I genuinely want to know how I can make this better and whether I’m actually building solid endurance or just staying in a comfort zone.
