So I am a comptroller for years know a lot etc etc.
However I kind of lost my edge and got super comfy.
Anyway, I had a side gig that wanted a power BI reporting
I never did it drag my feet on it not did they asked specifically like I could have done it but choose not to
Anyway , an intern came in and did it . I have not seen it yet . But sounds good and technical.
I am feeling like I lost my edge honestly don’t know if I have it in my to improve my power bi skills too tired to do that.
Anyway should I feel bad? Am I out of touch? How can I compete with this kids that are new and eager and all that!
Do I have to compete . How do older accountants feel about it?
Advice?
My job is heavy on data analysis but honestly I have not been increasing my skills
Hello all, I am sure many of you who have been here from the first drop understand or have a concern if this is sustainable.
I have been fucked by smci before . Been holding went from 65 to 21 and now I am wondering should I cash out ? Will this crash again hard core? What are your thoughts?
So I graduated 10 years ago . I have been employed at the since place since then . I went from accounting assistant to comptroller in that time . Salary 180k medium company .
I graduated at 33 took a little detour in my 20’s. I have a nice house husband pets kids going to college .
Recently I got “reprimanded at work” and it made me worry and realized that outside this company I have no experience and I don’t have my CPA.
I am so lazy and kinda uninterested and unmotivated to do this and tackle the cpa . But I see it as insurance should anything go bad at my current employer .
Can you guys give me some good reasons to do this? Will it really make a difference can I realistically do this in a year ?
I have a ton of time available but little discipline
So I am a currently working remote it has been a month since I started doing remote work . I used to do hybrid work
I feel a bit disconnected since I do not have to go to the office . Left out almost …
Is this normal? Like I used to dislike getting up and driving to the office but I liked actually being at the office for the most part … I would also feel annoyed and left out at times. Since I worked in the admin office a medium company most ppl work at the site and not the admin offices.
Anyway I feel a little left out. For those who are fully remote how do you manage the lack of interactions and how do you make used of your time
