Got 1k page views on my weather app with basically 0 downloads. How do I fix my conversion rate?
Hey everyone,
I built an iOS app that converts weather metrics into daily outfit suggestions.
Launched v1.0 recently and got around 1,000 page views on the App Store, but almost zero downloads. Clearly my ASO or screenshot set is failing to convince people.
For v2.0 I dropped the app size from 70MB to 10MB to remove download friction, and now I'm reworking the App Store screenshots.
How do you usually debug a dead conversion rate? Should I focus on changing the first screenshot, the app subtitle, or preview text?
Would appreciate any tips from people who solved a similar drop-off problem.
Cut binary size from 70MB to 10.7MB using SVG/SF Symbols & catalog cleanup in SwiftUI — anyone seen unexpected performance trade-offs with aggressive asset stripping?
Hey devs,
While optimizing an app build, I managed to reduce the final download package size from ~70 MB down to 10.7 MB.
Main changes made:
Replaced custom high-res PNG/JPEG assets with SF Symbols and vectorized SVGs.
Cleaned up unused asset catalog sets and unused frame rendering blocks in SwiftUI.
Optimized build settings for release stripping.
Now that the size dropped so drastically, I'm analyzing potential trade-offs.
Have any of you noticed runtime rendering overhead, vector-decoding spikes on older devices, or memory consumption differences when shifting heavily from rasterized image assets to vector assets in SwiftUI?
Would love to hear how you handle asset optimization in production.
I built an app called Outfitcast that recommends outfits based on the weather — would love your feedback!
Hi everyone!
As a weather enthusiast, I’ve been working on an iOS app called Outfitcast (just released v2.0!).
The idea behind it is simple: instead of just showing standard temperature numbers, it bridges the gap between weather forecasting and practical daily living by helping users figure out what to wear based on the conditions.
Since this sub is full of people who truly understand weather data, atmospheric conditions, and daily forecasts, I’d love to get your thoughts:
How does the weather display and forecast layout feel to you?
Are there specific weather metrics (like dew point, wind chill, or humidity impact) you think are crucial when deciding what to wear?
If you'd like to check it out, it's on the App Store. I’m actively improving it and would really appreciate any feedback, critiques, or feature ideas from this community!

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance (1) [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward (2) In which they will remain forever (3) And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son (4).
5 days in "Waiting for Review" — is a first subscription group what's slowing this down?
Submitted Sept 3. Still "Waiting for Review" five days later — nothing has
moved to In Review yet.
The submission bundles four items: the app version, a subscription group, and
two subscriptions. It's the first subscription group on the account, so I'm
assuming the group gets reviewed separately and the whole bundle waits on the
slowest part.
Two questions for anyone who's been through this:
- Is a first subscription group normally this slow, or is 5 days long even
for that? - Are review times generally longer right now, or is this just me?
Not withdrawing — I know that puts me back at the end of the queue. Mostly
trying to work out whether this is normal or whether something is stuck.
