I will get hate for this but i found the medical medium diet has been one of the only things that has helped me.

I’ve gotten hate for mentioning his diet on this sub but hear me out, in case you feel like trying something new because honestly i don’t get the amount of hate for a diet that prioritizes veg and fruit. That is it. He doesn’t advertize a crazy course or anything like that, it is just a fruit and veggie based diet with some specific routines that you can find anywhere online for free. It is literally just apples, bananas, celery, potatoes.

For the sceptics, esp for the “medium” part of it, i get it, because i am also a scientifically trained person and the only reason i tried it is because I had nothing to lose. I have tried everything from LDN to ssri’s and i have a bag filled with all kinds of meds at home that is how desperate i felt. I dont use any now. I haven’t spent any $ on this besides just the bunches of bananas and celery that he recommends and still everyone is extremely sceptical. I don’t understand it, truly. I told my therapist about it (her daughter suffers from LC) and she and her daughter have been doing the celery juice and potatoes for lunch as well as the 1 month cleanse (just fruit and veg for a month) and she has taken up running again, after years of not being able to. Another friend started just doing the celery juice in the morning and her IBS and PEM nearly disappeared. My partner started joining in and their chronic back acne is better than it has ever been, even compared to years on accutane. It has given me so much life back. I just wanted you to know that this is a very low cost low effort way to try and improve your health, and if it doesn’t work the only thing you’ve lost is just getting a bunch of vitamins in.

Why do I want to take a lot of hot showers during cleansing?

Wondering if someone has an explanation for this. I crave hot showers when I am in a cleanse, sometimes 3 or 4 a day. I happen to feel agitated and cold more often? also the warmth is nice for my muscles and when I get too cold from the cleanse. It also helps the headaches i get when cleansing. Edit to say i am a woman and I also have PCOS and POTS and in general I feel good after a shower, but during cleansing even more so. I don’t feel like it’s just about adrenaline. Anyone else?

Any advice for reconnecting? Reconnected with my dad after 6 years, not sure what to think.

Basically, he got married and had a child in the meantime. He didn’t tell me either of those things. I heard through others. He is 61 years old, i am 32. About 6 years ago, I had Wanted to talk some things out (lies i had caught him in, and other things) and he didn’t want to. I didn’t want to talk just me and him, but with our partners or a therapist present. He felt offended and threatened to cut off contact again, as he had done once before when I confronted him with a lie. He has narcissistic traits, lies often, and is quite strange/distrusting in general. We never called each other back after that.

I tried to reach out a few times over the years, through email and text, and twice by calling, but he never responded. I even went so far as to apologize for putting him on the spot in an email i wrote with my therapist, which was kind and reconciliating in tone. No reply. Last month i texted him I hope he’s doing okay and will not try to get in touch anymore. He responded he would like to chat, we called and it was strange. He seemed relieved and asked a lot of questions, even saying he wants to build our relationship back up again. I feel a bit surprised by this sudden change, and am wondering if people have wise words for me or have experience with a reconciliation such as this one.

Clonidine help for you?

I took one dose and it knocked me out the entire following day (0.075 mcg so pretty normal dose in the evening). It did make me less anxious, but it also made my fatigue go crazy. Should i try a few more days and does it get better? Any good experiences?

Ps Other recommendations also welcome, looking for help with the wired anxious physical feeling. Gabapentin helped but wore off after a few days.

First time clonidine, took three 1-hour naps during the day. Does it take a while to get used to this?

I feel relaxed but also extremely heavy and tired. I have anxiety and it’s dysautonomia related: so more of a jittery and wired feeling but usually insomniac. Feels as if I am finally able to relax but also feels very intense. Took 0.075 mcg and thinking to go half tonight. Just wondering if people here have experience with this medication, not asking for medical advice just wondering if im the only one
