Alzheimer’s drug for migraine

I (31F) am not cured, but I’ve been on Memantine for HM for 5 years and it has drastically improved my quality of life. It seems that it’s not yet widely known as an option (when I’ve moved states and seen new doctors they act shocked) so I wanted to share this article in case anyone wants to research it and ask their neurologist if they’re a good candidate.

Anybody’s BPD parent suffered a traumatic brain injury?

Mine had a TBI and 3 brain surgeries in total. It’s a lot to get into, but one key thing is she now has dementia. She knows who she is, where she is, who we are, etc. but has poor short term and working memory, is an unsafe driver, etc.

The cognitive decline has taken the BPD symptoms to a point of being on a 4D billboard that jumps in my face and gives me whiplash. I feel so guilty for even saying this, but I can hardly make it through a phone conversation. Spending time in person is unbearable. She hates hearing about my life and sits on her phone pouting and scrolling (is this just a boomer thing now?)

I thought I’d seen and heard it all but every other sentence leaves me with my jaw dropped.

Some deeply honest and eye opening quotes have emerged:
“It’s just more fun when your kids are young; you have more control.”
“I didn’t think you had to say sorry when it was your family.”
{in response to me saying money isn’t everything}: “yeah, but it will get you A LOT of places”

Those three quotes alone explain 85% of my childhood.

The masking to appear normal to the outside world is gone and I’m just left agasp at how simply things are thrown out on the table now.
