Terrifying at the limit

Terrifying at the limit

So I went on a togue with some friends in my heavily modified 04 CVPI and it feels like it wants to bite your head off (though great fun) at the limit. Twitchy and throttle input had to be very carefully metered lest you be wrapped round a tree. Is anyone familiar with ways to make these things less twitchy when you’re pushing them? I have some stiffer custom fabbed rear watts arms and some front poly bushings apart from the obvious go fast stuff. Just the limits of solid axle?

Just bought this: 1-owner, 4.0, 4x4, garage kept and rust free.

Bought it for cheap, and the problems are minimal too. Just had some vacuum leaks, a torn axle shaft ujoint boot, brakes, and a collapsed seat. Managed to knock everything out this weekend :)

SWAP TO 4.10. DO IT NOW

You really should swap to 4.10.

LSD or not it’s a HUGE upgrade and it makes these things twice as fun to drive and it’s the single most impressive bang for your buck mod on these cars.

Back from the paint shop…

They did a pretty damn incredible job matching the rear quarters. Last job is welding the equipment holes in the roof, and painting that - and then the 2004 CVPI-98MGM body swap project will truly be complete!!!!!!!

….and then I’m beginning the quest for true big power. Forged internals, big turbos…😈
