2004.5 ram 3500 laramie

So something went BANG while driving through an intersection. It sort of grinds, if you want to call it that it's more of a hiss like "zzzzzzzzz" in D and R, but it just rolls when in P. It's something transmission related, like the output shaft or the t-case input shaft, but I'm not convinced it's the transmission proper. 4wd didn't get me any movement when I was in the intersection either.

If it's the output shaft, the whole trans gets rebuilt anyways. If it's the t-case, I was told to just buy a new one. I have to rip it apart when I get some time and find the issue.

She's given me 500'000 good kilometers of life, I can't say anything bad about her. She got rear ended years ago and I had to park her for a while to rebuild the rear end because insurance wouldn't. I put a lot of money into getting her back on her feet, full rear end rebuild, half the front end, new brake lines all around, fuel lines, TIPM, ECM. A whole lot of lovin', and she gave me loving back for years and years, but I just don't know if she's got any life left in her. The engine has never been rebuilt, nor the rest of the powertrain. If I fix her this time, how long until the next part blows?

What do you think? Is she worth the 10s of thousands in repairs I've given her so far, and more to come, or is she an ornament? Does a new 3500 with a better tow rating trump keeping this old girl alive?

2006 John Deere 3720 injector leak update #2

She isn't leaking!

I don't really know the cause. Pulled the injectors, sprayed clean including the HP fuel lines. Put back together and snapped a retainer clamp bolt, put 3 new bolts in torqued to spec, fuel lines torqued to spec, no new return lines, just reseated basically.

One of those 3 items was the leak, and the cleaning and retorquing, my guess it was the weak stud, fixed the leak.

All in all I'm happy, thanks for the tips.

2006 John Deere 3620 injector leak update

I opened everything up, there are no copper or o-ring seals anywhere to be found on the injector or the parts diagram. The only thing there is on the diagram is what they call a Nozzle Valve Seat Sealing Washer, and it looks like just a regular zinc washer, I'm guessing it's stainless. It sits way down in the bottom of the injector hole and I don't know how easy it is to pull out of there.

Anyways, I was putting it back together and torquing the injector retainer clamps down to somewhere around 20ft-lb (my torque wrench doesn't sit perfectly on the lines so I rough guess it to within a few ft-lbs), the front two injectors torqued just fine but the last one, which was the leaking one, broke as I was torquing it down, but luckily it wasn't entirely severed and I got the whole bolt back with no parts stuck in the head.

Is it possible this bolt was weak and wasn't holding the last injector down properly which caused the slow leak? Can I replace it with any M8x35mm bolt I can get at a fastener supply? Should I go up into a grade 8 or 9 bolt so it is stronger?

Just a friendly reminder that Foundever is owned by a grocery store and hardware store billionaire dynasty who has big business in Russia.

2006 John Deere 3720, fuel leak at injector.

Fuel leak about 15-30s after starting, enough that it pools then eventually drips down onto the ground. Looks like it's coming from where the injector goes into the head under the clamp, instead of the line above it. Tried tightening the fuel line, it's tight, tightened the clamp a bit but didn't take much plus it probably has a torque spec. Tractor running fine, no smoke or misfire, just a tiny leak.

Would this be an injector seating issue or is there an o-ring or gasket in there that might be shot?

I want to buy nicer summer rims for my Land, possibly the Fast EV01+ rim. What kind of offsets and rim widths are you using and how do they look if they stick out more than stock rims?
