Heavy Metal Supernatural Slasher Horror Script - DIY/SOV Preferred
Title: Ghost Notes
Genre: Horror / Slasher with a Supernatural tilt
Logline: When three young metal musicians recruit a mysterious producer to help film a fake snuff film music video, they get more than they bargained for. They quickly learn that he intends to make the real thing, using their deaths and posthumous recordings as the masterpiece the music industry stole from him in his youth.
Pages: 45
Settings: A garage/space for band practice. A warehouse-type space for both live music and as a de facto living quarters. A gas station/convenience store. A nicer, modern recording studio.
Actor Requirements: 5 main roles total, with a couple of extras here and there. An older male (40s-50s) as the jaded producer. Two younger males and one younger female as the band, and one younger female (all early 20s) as a key victim.
Other requirements: A cargo van. Instruments. Recording gear (new and old).
Note: This story revolves around a heavy metal/hardcore/punk band. If you have a connection with a three-piece band, a recording studio, or rehearsal/show space that might be interested in contributing to or participating in this, that would be ideal.
About me: I am a published short horror story writer from New Jersey, and I recently adapted this unpublished story into a screenplay. My goal with ALL of my writing has been to see the stories get made into films one day, but I figured I would take the initiative and develop this as a script. I haven't written something for a film since college, but I think I did okay. I chose the story I deemed the "easiest to film" because of its limited requirements.
As a big fan of shot-on-video and DIY horror, I would love to link up with a director in that world to make this happen (but if you are into bigger productions, I won't be mad). I would also be interested in helping produce (finance) and get this into some festivals with some connections I have.
To read the full script, please comment or DM. I'm being a little precious about this, so before I send it over, I would love to see some of your work or have a conversation.
