To scrub or not to scrub? That is the question... in this economy
I'm running ZFS array and currently cannot afford to replace any of my 16TB disks if they fail. I have avoided scrubbing and have two separate backups of all the important things I can replace at any time.
Is the scrub strain really that significant? I've heard lots of horror stories so until I have plenty of spending money for replacements I'm not running any scrubs at the moment. Am I too paranoid or is it a valid choice?
