Am I the only person wegovy doesn’t work for?

Hi everyone.

I’ve been on wegovy for 4 months, and had high hopes of finally being able to shift some weight after three gruelling years of stress and consistent weight gain.

I’ve been on the 1.7mg jab for two weeks.

The only time I’ve ever experienced any change in appetite and food noise is the day after titrating up a dose. I’ve titrated up as quickly as possible, so up a dose every four weeks, but also haven’t lost any weight. I’m also noticing more of a pull to very calorific foods.

I’ve also not lost any weight at all and feeling a lot of shame around that. Like if I’m not losing weight like everyone else, am I just that greedy and obsessed with food that nothing can help me?

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I’m starting to lose hope and am considering switching to mounjaro

When will we admit that more rights = less babies?

The stats say it, the more educated and wealthy we become as a society, the less babies are born.

Everyone has forgotten all about family values, and that real happiness lies in raising families, so why don’t we implement the following measures to encourage more children?

Ban on vasectomies and condoms.

Enforced sperm harvesting to protect future generations.

Restrictions on education for men. We all know the more educated have less kids.

Enforced part time work so men can pick up their babies from school and nursery. Why bother with work? The Family unit is where you will find happiness.

Bank accounts and debt can only be registered under the woman of the house. Men may work if they choose, and may be given an allowance, but may not have assets in his name. That is a woman’s role.

80% tax on the income of absent fathers.

Home ownership only for women, so men don’t have to worry about finances. Women will let you focus on what makes you truly happy - your kids.

On 0.5mg and gaining weight

Did anyone else have this issue? I started wegovy 7 weeks ago, on the usual 0.25, I felt a huge effect on the first day and I was so relieved to finally have something that could help me control my eating.

I lost 3kg in my first couple of days, but since then I’ve only had small windows of feeling fuller/less hungry, even after going up to 0.5mg - other than that, the medication is having no effect and I think I’ve actually gained weight because my clothes are tight.

It’s really disheartening and I feel disappointed in myself l, I don’t want to shell out all this money just to lose a few lbs at 2.4mg. I’m so upset, and I guess looking for some reassurance from some of you.

My brother is a year sober today

I’ve been a long time lurker here, but never felt the need to post, as my daily life isn’t as entangled with an alcoholics as many of the rest of you, but originally came here to learn to cope with brothers drinking, who was a big drinker since he was 15 years old, he was 33,
Last year, when he finally decided to quit.

Today marks a whole year sober for him. It’s the longest he’s gone without drinking since he first took a sip of alcohol. The relief it’s brought to me and my mum is beyond words. There was a time where I would die alone, with my younger sibling gone way before me, but today I believe we’ll grow old together.

My dad died last year and the relief I feel because of his decisions and positive actions is making me emotional.

I just hope it lasts forever now. Long may it continue
