Advice Needed- Marquette for swimming?

I know we all hate tourists, but can y'all help me out, please lol

I want to visit Lake Superior with my GF since shes always wanted to visit. I have been traveling for work A LOT and shes been stuck home. I want to suprise her with a trip to the great lake and be able to swim and enjoy some good food and easy hiking.

So far, Marquette seems like the best deal for this staying at the hampton inn. So I wanna ask,

Is swimming in the lake solid here?
hows exploring the town?
We are both big nerds/geeks so are there any comic/dnd/mtg stores to visit?

If Marquette isnt the solution for our destination, what would be a good suggestion? Im trying to stay with a Hilton hotel since I have a ton of points to cash inn.

I got this cover-up tattoo and so far ive gotten feedback from my friends about how they just like like traditional tattoos so they dont have much to say or they nitpick things like talons.

I think it came out amazingly, esp for a cover up. This is my first big tattoo and im thrilled.

Cover up complete! 2021 vs 2026

I came here when I was 21 fresh out of Vegas with friends with a bad tattoo. When I posted here I was destroyed and *roasted* for my paw and moon (?) tattoo lol

It was bad 5 years ago and only got worse so now I've covered it up! I got a Neo Traditional owl and lantern and I think it came out AMAZING

Shop: Neon Dragon Ink (Iowa)

I got a cover up done on a tattoo I got as a 21yr old in Vegas lol. I was super indecisive the entire time and wasn't sure what I wanted but we ended up with a neo trad owl and lantern :^D

[discussion] My first comics! What next?

Hello everyone! I am on a business trip in Melbourne Florida and on my flight I watched "The Batman" and then started a batman audio drama on Spotify because I needed more.

Because I needed more I decided maybe I should try getting some comics? That might be fun. I was SO RIGHT!

The staff helped me understand things like cover variants and how to tell which volume a comic is ect (I'm sure I forgot some by now)

I ended up with the new mainline batman being released, a staff members favorite batman origin comic, and the first 3 battle beast comics with one being a 1 of 25 variant because it was the coolest looking one to me lol

I can't believe how expensive some things like the first release of invincible is, they had it graded(?) for like $4000

I'm definitely going to continue battle beast and batman.

What else should I get? Any help tips for a beginner collector/reader??

I really enjoy the darkness of the batman and DC universe over what I know about marvel but I'm down to be educated on my initial impression for marvel if I'm wrong!

Tldr: This is my first couple books, I would like tips and suggestions on what to buy on payday to read lol
