Is there a product that's like a doorbell but you can press something that will show "come in" or "busy" to the person at the door?

needs to be controllable via app or a remote device that works from the other side of a wall, not like a tv remote.

so kind of like a recording studio/radio station "on air" light but if you didn't turn it on ahead of time and someone knocks, you can turn it on remotely without people on your video call being aware of it.

think working in a home office and a deaf family member knocks and you want to be able to say "come in" or "busy" to them.

and needs to not be over $50.

Spinoff better than original series?

I LOVE Beyond Paradise. I think it's actually better than Death in Paradise - less campy. As an American, I thought, gosh, it seems rare for a spinoff to be better than the original. But maybe people have other examples?

Series 4, Episode 8 moment

Isn't it everyone's greatest wish to hear their mother (who was a random guest for the actual contestants to write a song about) summarize them on television as "a bit inept at things, but that's fine"?

**DANG IT i meant season 5

More things I noticed - Series 1

First, Josh Widdecombe won the series with 94 points while Frank and Romesh each had 93. Which kinda means that one point Greg ended up giving him for all the counting tasks he had to do that nobody else did is what gave him the win. If they hadn't singled him out for that set of tasks, it would have been a three-way tie they would have had to break.

Second, a bit less interesting, but it just surprised me - Frank Skinner's real name is Christopher Graham Collins, which is... really different.

Rewatching from the beginning

I'm on episode 3 and Greg said Frank Skinner, recently awarded OBE, presumably, because this will be shown over and over. And I checked and indeed he got an OBE in 2023! I'll count that as "recent" enough.

Hypothetical Davros reaction

I was just wondering something very random while watching Resurrection of the Daleks.

Completely hypothetical and of course would never happen, but suppose the Doctor was killed, like finally and completely killed, by the Master or the Cybermen or basically anyone unrelated to Davros and the Daleks.

Do you think Davros would be glad that the Doctor was dead, or mad that he hadn't gotten to be the one to do it?

Kind acts of Dr. Gregory House

Hi all,

I know this may sound weird, but I'm hoping we can compile a list of kind things House did.

I just re-watched episode 106 and when the turned-out-not-to-be-schizo mom was leaving with her son (who was still mad at House for calling Family Services), House, who knows that really it was the mom who called them, pretends to be a jerk, saying he just wanted him out of HIS life so he had Cuddy call. He leaves it up to the mom if she wants to ever tell him the truth about that, letting her judge what would be best for their relationship as mother and son. And he didn't do it to win a bet or anything. I couldn't help but notice that as a truly kind thing to do, for no self-serving reason at all.

What else you got?

Actors' off-set reputations - how do they affect your viewing choices?

For example, I loved James Corden's performance when he played Craig on Doctor Who - and that was the first time I'd seen or heard of him. But then I heard things about him being a jerk IRL. So when I'm bopping through britbox looking for things to watch, seeing that he's starring in it makes me tend to skip something that I might otherwise have given a shot. Do other people react that way or do you ignore such considerations?
