[OC][TN USA] car passes and risks head on collision to get around my bike at all costs. there were no other oncoming vehicles if he'd just waited.

My 1 year old aeroad CFR's BB is rusting badly

Bike has not been ridden in rain often (only a couple times that i got caught on a ride unexpectedly), is stored indoors and hand cleaned often. The non drive side bb is very rusty, which has been slowly happening for months. The drive side bb has no rust. Anybody have a similar issue on a newer canyon? Pretty disappointed to see this on an $11k usd bike.

edit: Not sure what you commenters are defining as "maintenance", but

-as noted in the OP, bike is only stored indoors

-ride only on the road in normal conditions in east TN USA. I did not get much riding in during the winter so no worries with salt or ice.

-do not ride in rain/wet unless I get caught out by a pop up storm which has only happened a couple of times.

-wipe down the frame and wheels with a damp towel using water then wipe dry with another towel about once per month on average

-apply car wax to the frame paint about once a month

-wax the chain every 150-200 miles

Short of tucking it into bed at night and reading it a story, I'm not sure there is much more "maintenance" that one could expect to do for a bike frame.

edit2: only on reddit cycling subs does one get consistently downvoted for providing info that people ask for.

massive amounts of import/tariff invoices suddenly + invoice missing entry summary

I am in the US. I import shipments of auto parts from japan on average twice monthly. I've done so for about 3-4 years so I generally know what to expect, including the last 15 months of tariff debacles. Each shipment is valued approx $2000-2500usd but it varies sometimes.

I only received 4 invoices since 9/2025. The last invoice I received was 3/30/26. Then suddenly 5/21/26 I started receiving invoices again in rapid succession. I've gotten 8 in the past 2 weeks for random time periods, out of order, each for several hundred $, each stating "due upon receipt":

  1. october 2025 2) november 2025 1) march 2026 2) april 2026 1) january 2026 1) february 2026

The last of which is 16 pages of BS about material composition, but not supported with an entry summary showing HTC codes or tariff percentages used to calculate the invoice which is what you really want to see.

I also expect to receive more for the other shipments in the meantime, so they could be potentially dropping high 4 figures in invoices on me without warning by saving them up in this manner.

Questions:

  1. the invoices list emails for disputes and adjustments/rebills. And I know that they try every way possible to stick you with an additional $75 for a "dispute" even if they were found to be wrong. So how do I get a copy of the entry summary for the invoice it's missing from, in a timely manner, since "missing entry summary" doesnt seem to suit either of those email addresses?

  2. Is there any info or sense of why they skipped sending invoices for 7.5 months and are now mail bombing me rapid fire with thousands in invoices? I am not naive enough to ask "is this legal" but it sure seems distasteful and surely goes against policy/protocol to hold invoices that long and then send them all together and say "due immediately".

  3. The news is full of articles stating that many of the tariffs were billed illegally and should be refunded, and there is a press statement from fedex stating that they will begin processing refunds in batches. The refunds supposedly cover some or most of the time period I am being billed for today. Why are they continuing to send these invoices today requiring payment, and then expect me to wait months or years to see if they decide to refund the same amounts?

[USA][OC]No need to wait for a clear field of view, I go NOW!

Old vid I pulled from my wife's cam while auditing files. She's planning to turn left at the next median.

Update to: https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/s/hmI6GEsbPb

Car still runs perfectly at 6600 miles. I just went ahead and did another oil change so i could check the metal content again. I can happily report that there's very little metal in the filter or the oil from the filter housing. Just a few tiny specks in some of the filter pleats that my camera probably didn't pick up well.

So it looks like the engine is going to be just fine
