My "unusual" MacOS desktop. Rate 0-10

Yeah, it's pretty unusual for macOS...

Don't mention the icons on my desktop - I put them there on purpose to make it look different from other MacOS setups, because everyone else's desktop is usually pretty clean and empty.

What's the point of Brave?

Seriously, why would you need Brave when you can just download Firefox and uBo, for example?

I'm not hating Brave, I'm just genuinely curious about the browser's concept and its purpose in today's world.

What are some of its unique features, for example?

Talking about desktop version.

Sequoia or Tahoe?...

Guys, I have a problem. I can’t decide which system to choose.

I really like Liquid Glass design, but for some reason - I don’t even know why myself, I keep downgrading to Sequoia...

Right now I’m on Sequoia, and I want to upgrade to Tahoe again. But I’m afraid that, for some reason, I’ll want to switch back again…

With Tahoe, just like with Sequoia, there are absolutely no problems. Battery life, performance, etc. everything works great on both systems.

Honestly, I don’t even know what I need. Can you help me choose? Maybe point out the obvious pros and cons of both systems?

Thanks.

M14 (nearly 15)

Hi!

I decided to post here because I'd like to find some people to talk to. In real life, I find it pretty hard to start conversations, so I don't have many friends.

I'm Russian. Just a heads-up: I can't do voice chats. English isn't my first language, so I'm much more comfortable texting.

I spend most of my time at home, though I do enjoy going for walks in nature from time to time. I like playing Minecraft and spending way too much time on Reddit.

I'm open to talking about pretty much anything — from random topics to how your day went.

If you're also looking for someone to chat with or become friends, feel free to message me

Desktop organization.

Guys, can you give me some advice on how to organize my desktop? It seems a little too empty to me.

[MacOS 27 GG DB1] The new Spotlight is much faster

Personally, in my experience, I've noticed that the new Spotlight is much faster than the one in MacOS 26 Tahoe. It opens with less delay, and finds the right app or file instantly when Spotlight in Tahoe seems to have had a slight delay.

Random shutdown

MacBook just randomly shuts down, sometimes 30 seconds after turning on, sometimes after 10 minutes. I've tried different asahi distributions, and different DEs and WMs. I have no idea how to fix it, does anyone know the solution?? Now I'm on Ubuntu 26.04 (gnome), MacBook Air M2 15"
