How hard is that clasp really?

How hard is that clasp really?

My biggest moan about the Noble 40 was length of the hands. All of the marketing Monta did so far was based on preproduction samples where both hands go over the markers ever so slightly, but far enough for you to say meh (picture on the right).

I then watched a YouTube review and fella did say that Monta picked up the extra length on preproduction watches and even promised to rectify it. Well, the good news is that they did. Image on the left is from their latest IG post, I believe this could be a production watch with hands being shorter and looking way more visually balanced. Although it is not ideal that Monta launched a full on marketing campaign using inferior copies.

Guys, the clasp. Too many people say the latest one (on Noble 40 and Triumph 2) is pain in the neck. Stiff enough for you to notice every time, a lot sharper than it needs to be, and overall robbing the watch of the luxury feel. Like you really need to make that finger nail work to get it open. And that you really do feel that sharp edge going into your skin.

I have rrrrreally thin skin on my hands. I was changing wiper blades on my car last winter and ended up going to ER for stitches lol. If that clasp is indeed somewhat stiff and sharp ish I’m just not going to enjoy the money I spent on the watch.

What do you think?

water intake

I used to average around a gallon of liquid per day. Half of it came from water, the other half from soups, tea, coffee, soda etc.

I have a number of very well pronounced B12 deficiency symptoms and am wondering if I was depleting my B12 with high water intake for the last 15 years?

From what I understand B12 is stored in liver, so at a 1st glance the answer to my question is no, water intake doesn’t have a direct impact on B12 stores. But what is weird is that after I reduced my water intake and started taking B12 supplement I felt a very strong energy boost. I tried B12 many times before while drinking a lot of liquid and never had such noticeable improvement in energy levels.

Wondering if daily water intake does have some sort of an impact on B12 after all?

less stimulating wavelengths?

Unfortunately my sleep is off due to RLT. I experimented with distance from the panel, light strength and duration. At 2 minutes in early AM with lights at 20% and sitting 50 inches away I sleep ok. However at this point I practically don’t feel any benefit from the session. I’m doing RLT for mitochondrial health and sleep issues aside I really feel the charge, which is why I don’t want to give up on it.

I want to continue experimenting with individual wavelengths. There are articles online suggesting to go for 810/850 in order to reduce the stimulating effect. I guess I’ll need to try all of them individually at different strength/distances to find out if one particular combination of settings will work for me.

Anyone tried doing something similar to minimise impact on sleep quality?

Right after Covid my health started going downhill. At first glance my combination of triggers and symptoms suggest that I have MCAS, plus I did respond well to mast cell stabilisers.

My main issue right now is muscle fatigue. A simple walk up the stairs will make me exhausted. However things change drastically when I’m on a vacation. Within minutes of being in the hot sun I turn into my normal self and can swim, run, cycle, hike all day long. Literally after 5 minutes of being in the sun at above +25C, which quite frankly is absolutely mind blowing.

After realising that I got myself a red-light panel (a really good one that checks all the boxes) and it works in the exactly same way - just a 2-3 minute session and I’m full of energy for the next 12 hours. The caveat is that it ruins my sleep. It does it to a lesser degree when I turn the power down and sit 50 inches away from the panel. But then the impact goes down too and I don’t feel as good.

I thought it was Vitamin D at first, but then after days of reading my guess is the mitochondria. Sunlight triggers them to produce ATP which is why I’m getting the improvement from both the sun and RLT, bearing in mind that RLT has no impact on Vit D.

What I don’t understand is why mitochondrias refuse to be as effective without hot summer sun/RLT exposure? And secondly why issues with sleep after red-light - MCAS reaction to stimulation? Too much ROS after a boost in ATP production?

I rrrrealy don’t want to surrender myself to the disease so am constantly reading, analysing and experimenting.

Multiple dental cavitation surgeries, relocation to a low pollen/pollution area, low histamine diet and extensive dry fasting are helping to maintain an adult lifestyle, however I’m far from being 100%.

Love the longer hour markers. I think on the 38.5 model the shorter ones look a bit feminine (as does the entire dial if you ask me). But don’t love markers looking exactly like the hands here. It robs the watch of detail and adds plainness to the design. Plus it just looks strange when the minute hand is between the hour markers - it’s like you have 3 identical bars in that vicinity all competing for your attention and making it slightly distracting to read time.

I would’ve made the hour markers diamond cut with lumed tips and a thin groove going through the middle of the diamond cut part. It would’ve made the dial more sophisticated and improved legibility slightly.

I don’t know what it is about Monta, but it’s like they deliberately are adding a fly to the ointment every time they’re about to drop an otherwise perfect timepiece.
