Not Sure About Returning to My Old Job

I am just shy of 3 months sober, been trying this for over 3 years now.

I have not worked for the 3 months I have been sober, spent 1.5 months in a rehab/detox home facility. Then the last 1.5 months at home by myself. I have a great Sponser and go to meetings every day and hang out with the fellowship I have worked.

My predicament is going back to the job that has caused me miser, depression in constant relapses where I was giving up on AA. I did this at my previous job, fyi. I don’t want to go back, prayed and meditated about it and see ZERO benefit besides money. The negative is my parents (who are helping me) being “upset” or not be understanding. My parents have seen my progress and know my struggles with my job and its connection to drinking.

I currently have a job lined up, waiting on back ground check, also getting interviews still that are very good prospects. My life is not a mess and not spending money except to eat and drive to meetings.

Am I foolish to not go back to work for a few weeks, solely for money, just because I am a little scared to disappoint or hear a strong lecture from my parents? It just doesn’t feel right to risk my sobriety how I have many times before, once again. I have talked to my Sponser, Sponser brothers and other AA remembers.

Edit - New job would be working for a major scientific company that makes stuff for the pharma industry, I’d be responsible for managing a locations inventory. Leaving a company that’s manufacturing based and a 13 hour overnight shift

Edit 2 - my biggest concern is the this job is 530pm to 630am and during all the meetings I have been going to for the past 3 months. My sponsor and fellowship believe archiving my program I have built and not being able to attend the meetings and fellowship I have built would be a net negative for my sobriety. I would only be going back for a couple of weeks until I get the new job then be leaving immediately. I like the foundation I have built and want to keep that up 100% and feel my sobriety is more important than that old job for a couple of weeks.

Thoughts or suggestions?
