Looking for Steam Deck players to help test my grimdark roguelike

Looking for Steam Deck players to help test my grimdark roguelike

Hello!

I've just published the 2nd Beta for Ad Iterum, a grimdark traditional roguelike, where you eat your enemies to mutate and survive.

I'm running an open playtest this weekend (Friday 15 to Monday 18) through Steam, and would love to have some players testing it in the deck, as currently I'm the only one playing on it, everybody else uses a desktop! :D

To join the playtest, you can request access on Ad Iterum's Steam page by just clicking on Join the Playtest.

Once you've played the game, I would love to hear your feedback! All feedback is extremely helpful and helps shape the future of the game.

Anyone giving feedback will also be included in the credits of the full game. You can submit feedback through the in-game menu form, or if you prefer you can also drop by the community forums, or through Discord

What's in the Beta 0.2.0 right now?

  • 2 dungeons, featuring 4 different biomes, using a procedurally generated world combined with hand-crafted content.
  • 20+ mutations that change your abilities. Consume mutagens, or devour enemy corpses to evolve.
  • 20+ base enemies, each with unique behaviour within the ecosystem. Each enemy might have multiple modifier traits, which makes for 8.106 different enemy variations.
  • Melee, and ranged combat with different attack styles for light vs heavy weapons.
  • Permanent pacts that alter your gameplay, if you decide to take them.
  • 200+ items.
  • 2 bosses.
  • New Game (permadeath), and Daily Run modes.
  • Keyboard, mouse support, and full controller support.
  • Playable in Windows and Steam Deck
  • Localized to English, Spanish, and Japanese.

I hope you have fun, and thanks for playing!

I've been working on a roguelike for several months now, and I used free assets (kenney's 1-bit pack) while developing for most of it. I'm starting to switch them for my own assets slowly (I posted some more almost 5 months ago) inspired from the original.

One of the mechanics is that you eat your enemies to mutate and gain powers (which could be good or bad for your run!), these are some of them.
