Group rides and sprint segments

I like to mix in free rides in between workouts and have been thinking of joining group rides. But one of the things I like doing is going hard on the sprint segments to mix up the ride. I've seen some rides that have a "wall" or something, but I'm wondering if this would be frowned upon in all group rides?

Improving rim brake performance

Hey guys so I bought this 90s bike off marketplace and have done a bunch of cleaning and updating to get it riding well. It feels sick overall but did some climbing today and not feeling great on my downhill stopping power.

Ive replaced the front pads (but not the rear yet), I'm wondering what else would be most valuable to get me to stop better? Do I need to clean the rim, and if so with what? Are there newer calipers that would be worth the update?

Thanks!

Any advice for removing really stubborn grime on old parts?

I bought a 90s bike off marketplace and been trying to clean it up. Removed the cassette and went hard at it with degreaser, tooth brush, and a rag. I made some progress but just can't get the thick of it off

Scraping with a screwdriver sort of worked so think I'm gonna run to the store for a harder/steel brush, but if anyone has any additional advice it could save me another trip to the store. Both derailleurs are this bad as well

All YT video's and tips I see are on current bikes where the grime can just wipe off

Alternative to begging for pull request reviews in chat

Hey just wondering how you guys all handle pull request reviewing with your team, and if there's a better alternative to what we do.

I manage two different project teams, and both have a chat channel where every time they open a pull request they post the link in there. Often it's ignored, then a few hours later they ping again for someone to look. Enough time someone approves it to unblock them.

There's two layers here I'd like to unwrap a bit:

  1. The need for developers to beg for reviews. I think the solution here is probably to use automation to send pings, which works, but wonder if there's something else that can be done other than sending "@John opened a Pull Request: Link"

  2. A lot of times it's preferable to submit smaller PRs, or PRs that cover one large work area. Makes it easier to review.. but then most times the developer's next step is blocked until the PR is approved and merged. Don't know if it's better to promote way larger PRs or encourage more multi tasking

Just looking for thoughts and comments, what you guys do for pull request reviews & ownership and what you found works well

[Citizen Tsuyosa Mickey Mouse] Impulse buy

I always liked the Tsuyosa, there's a bright orange one I've seen on here that I've considered a few times. Walked by a Citizen store today and this was in the window. The sky blue pops so much in person it's hard to capture in a photo. My collection of bright colored watches is expanding...

They also have a pink Minnie Mouse watch that's nice. My wife is not a watch person but also got her first one, would've been a "his and hers" but it only comes in 40mm, which looked way too big on her wrist. Surprised it didn't come in a smaller size

Is there any clearance behind motorized / pull down screens to hang stuff?

I'm shopping for pull down or motorized screens for our living room. Looking for a screen that ticks away as Id like to decorate the wall with some framed photos and puzzles for when not in use. Does anyone know what kinda clearance most wall mounted screens would have? Does anyone have recommendations for a screen < $1k? I'm currently looking at elite screens

Ceiling mounting isn't an option because our living room has 13ft ceilings
