So I had my 1st game yesterday, it was a FLGS casual event with pizza served. There were multiple players, randomly paired.
So I had a paired with a kid... I played with him before, he was learning the game rules, and it was draw but that was months ago. He had a single Norn Emissary. But now, he has 2 of em and a bunch of Monster units, playing Take and Hold.
While my list was mostly infantries with a Ballistus and RepEx. Playing CoV WP under Purge the Foe in Layout C.
It was useless against his list, it felt like our disposition was reversed like I had to hold the line.
I wasn't having fun much because I was looking out for him, telling him things like I surge moved into engagement range of his units and his nearby units can also charge into my said unit. You know, things like how the game should be a conversation.
I was busy looking out for him and I forgot to check my own units abilities. We only made it to the end of the 2nd round. I don't feel like playing with the kid anymore because it was kinda annoying at some point.
Just wanna ask for validation if I'm being wuss for feeling like this.

AND! I got all BT related stuff even the old BT dice blister pack, BT coin and Bayard's Revenge. 10TH ED dice I got like over 60pcs for those sustained hit 1s lmao

Very proud of their personal heraldry and the guy in the 3rd image is inspired by this beautiful art, always loved that long axe weapon.
Been playing Darkwaters 3 times, first was the tutorial then, Deep Trouble then, Facing Foulhoof.
But both 2nd & 3rd game, I lost by timer. It's almost impossible to win in this game!
How do you guys go around this? What's your experience?
Ps I bought the gaming components only so no Darkwaters model here.
