This weather

A friend was complaining about how hot it’s been lately and I said we have it better that some places.
He asked where. So I said it was 106f in Dallas and he responded that it was the same here with the heat index.
I told him in Dallas the 106 without the index. With it, it was closer to 112f.
In Phoenix it was 110f today.

It’s still better than snow and ice for 5 months.

BJ's Wholesale

Plans are officially in motion for BJ’s Wholesale Club. They have submitted a site plan to the City of Sebring for a massive 106,370-square-foot warehouse club.

Where: On U.S. 27, north of Keiber Boulevard (behind Denny's and north of the Holiday Inn Express). A new traffic light is planned for the intersection to handle the crowds.

Also included will be three highway-frontage commercial parcels (ranging from 1.26 to 1.62 acres) up for lease.

City officials confirm the project is in the formal departmental review and permitting phase. No tenants have been officially named for the three extra parcels just yet!

Places to read

Someone asked me the other day if there were any places in Sebring or surrounding communities where a person could go to read and be cozy.
My first response was "like your own home". But apparently they were meaning like a book store or coffee shop.

Any ideas?

Things to do in Sebring

Do more things to do happen during snow bird season? Or is it just my imagination? I do see a lot of things happening now in town, but for some reason I feel there are more things going no when the population surges in winter time.

Maybe it's just me.

Bad Lettuce

I don’t understand why people are freaking out about this contaminated lettuce giving people diarrhea.
McDonald’s and Taco Bell have been doing this for years and no one bats an eye. LOL

Smashburger

A friend was telling me about a smashburger place down in Lake Placid, think the name was Peters or something like that. Has anyone been there before, and was it any good.

For some reason, a good burger sounds really nice about now.

Swimming with alligators

I know there are generally gators in almost all ponds, canals, lakes, etc. and yet I still see people swimming there. Like on Lake Jackson, normally there are pontoon boats out there next to 27 with people in the water.

What gives?

Soda and Ice Cream

I know in Sebring we have the soda and ice cream place right on the circle, but I heard at the Jacarenda hotel they also have one inside as well. Has anyone been there, and if so. how was it in comparison?
