Homeowners: What's one hurricane season tip you wish everyone knew?

While I haven't been through many hurricane seasons personally, my wife has many under her belt. She's always stated to have cash available, a full take of gas in all cars, and freezers full of water to help keep them cold when power goes out (and it will).

What are some tips you think everyone should know for hurricane season in Sebring?

BrewHaha’s Burger Emporium • The 301

Some Tuesdays deserve better.

Trade the same old routine for an award-winning burger, crispy tots, and an ice-cold local craft beer.

Average Joe + Regular Tots: $10

Sugar Sand Drafts: $5

No special occasion required.

Just a better way to spend a Tuesday.

Every Tuesday. All Day.

Spring Lake Speakeasy

The speakeasy out at the Spring Lake golf course was shut down along with the restaurant upstairs (fork and flame I think was the name).
But I've heard that the speakeasy has reopened and serving food again along with live much from time to time.

Has anyone been back out there since the reopen?

12 Hours of Sebring

I love it when the race is in town. It reminds me of when I lived in Indiana and the 500 was coming up.
Last year the wife and I went to Chicanes for dinner and one of the French Canadian Porsche teams was sitting next to us. We had a great conversation with them.
With all of the fans and teams in town, has anyone had a terrible experience with any of them?
Every year we only have great times so I was curious about everyone else’s.

Approve & Remove buttons

New mod here, apologies if I'm being ignorant or this has been asked before.

I have new posts and replies going up and showing up to other users. But when I look at comments I see an Approve or Remove button. What are these for? The post still shows up to everyone in the sub whether I approve it or not.

Thank you.

Airboat rides

Has anyone been out to the airboat rides on hwy 98 just outside of town? How long are the rides and are they still family safe?

Population

So I was reading the Downtown Sebring website and it shows Sebring as having a population of 10780 in town. I'm assuming that this would not count those living outside of the city limit proper, but that number still feels kind of low.

So I wonder what that number would be for everyone with a Sebring address, and how that would change during snowbird season.

Nightlife in Sebring

Coming from Dallas, Texas, the "nightlife" in Sebring is....less....than what we were used to. Many people say that Sebring rolls up the sidewalks at 9pm, or that "nothing good happens after the sun goes down". But as I've see new businesses open up, like in the circle or close to it, I've noticed a lot of people actually do go out after dark

So my question to everyone is: What are some of the best spots for "nightlife in Sebring" around? And by nightlife I mean anything that is open in the later hours for enjoyment. We can also include Avon Park or Lake Placid area's.

For the wife and I, we love the Backyard at Faded. Just a relaxing place with live music and great service.
