I was lucky enough to acquire this group at Daytona. Indian tortoises originally imported from Farm Dular in Slovenia in 2017. If you bought an Indian tortoise from a pet shop in the 2000s these may have been the parents!
Hatchling stars napping at lights out
Some of my youngest ones at the end of the day before lights turn off. They sleep like life is so hard for them
3 month old ZooMed UVB output
Just checked output on 2 10.0 T5s (first two pictures) and it’s practically nothing. 3rd pic is a white box brand 2 year old mercury vapor for reference. Noticed an appetite decline and softening shell on a baby Hermann’s tortoise which led me to check. This is not the first time I’ve had issues with ZooMed bulbs and at this point I’ll avoid the brand entirely. Their quality control has gone down the toilet.
My favorite jelly beans (Amazon puffer) + lil flip
These guys have been so much fun. I originally started this turtle tank with mollies expecting them to be eaten. Well 3 mollies turned into me supplying the LFS’s with an endless inventory. One store gave me store credit (I was just grateful to thin the mollies) and so I got a few of these. They destroy any snails who dare to venture from their crevices. Very inquisitive and growing well.

This Sri Lankan star clutch is beginning to hatch. As they hatch, I rinse off the perlite and place them on moist paper towels until the umbilicus fully absorbs. It looks like all 5 eggs should be good in this clutch, but it may take a week for them to all hatch. 114 days at 30C/80-90%
A few of my Indian & Sri Lankan hatchlings
Just gave them a soak before bedtime. These range from a few weeks to a few months old. They are from my 3rd & 4th clutches. I also have a crazy number of isopods in here because they clean up all the leftover greens overnight.
2 days 2 clutches
Back to back clutches from my two Sri Lankan stars. That makes 15 total clutches between my 3 girls this season. They are trying to break records!
