Expecting diagnosis for my 9-year-old corgi tomorrow. Seeking advice and reassurance
Yesterday my 9-year-old corgi jumped down onto the low bench we have at the foot of our bed to act as stairs. Same thing he’s done a thousand times. But he let out a yelp and hasn’t been wanting to walk or use stairs since. The earliest appointment I could find was for tomorrow. I’ve been fighting the urge to take him to the urgent care vet ever since, but I had gabapentin on hand he had been prescribed in the past and hoped it was maybe just a sprain..I stupidly didn’t think corgis were as prone to IVDD as I’m finding out too late.
We’re forcing him to rest and carrying him outside to potty. He can stand and walk but he doesn’t want to, and I can tell he’s in pain. I think it’s gotten a little worse since yesterday. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon but am I being irresponsible by waiting?
