[REQ] ($400) (#Corvallis, OR, USA) ($490 by 12/3/26) (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, CashApp)

I went on leave from my graduate school program for a term (and thus my job as a TA) without realizing the way the pay periods work was going to leave me with a shit paycheck this month, and needing help with bills/rent. I'm working now as an instructor and tutor at the community college so will be fine from next month until I go back to my program, but need help in the short term.

I can pay $490 when I get my December paycheck (or if you'd prefer, $230 on November 3rd and $260 on December 3rd. This is my preference but I wasn't sure if this could be specified in the subject line format)

I have a clean borrowing history and I'm gainfully employed.

I don't use the reddit app, but the Relay for Reddit app, so while I can see old-style messages, the newer direct messages I only see when I check from my laptop which is less often.

Replacing radiator with crack. Is it better to get a new Non-OEM part, or an OEM part from a pick & pull? 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

I've got a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L and the radiator is cracked where the inlet hose meets the radiator.

It seems like I'll need to replace the radiator, so the question is would it be better to buy a new but non-OEM radiator or to buy an OEM one from a pick & pull? It's roughly the same price whichever way I go, but I worry if an OEM one from a pick & pull would be more fragile / brittle just due to age and condition after being in a car for 20 years and possibly sitting in the sun for some portion of those two decades.

Which is the safer option? Thanks for reading and any advice. (If you have any general advice about replacing a radiator or anything else I'm all ears. I'm always open to and appreciative of expert advice!)

What do Stahli and Bingus sound like in your head?

To me, I imagine Stahli having the same voice as Crumb from Ahh! Real Monsters, and Bingus as (basically) Blue from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

In truth, I'm not certain about Bingus. There is a voice in my head that is quite similar to Blue's from some cartoon somewhere, but I've wracked my brain trying to recall what exact voice it is. It may in fact be Blue, but I have an inkling that some day I'll remember the actual character that goes with the voice in my head.

That being said, how do YOU hear them? As a particular cartoon character? An IRL actor or celebrity? Some other person you know personally? Or maybe you just read them in your own personalized custom voice? I'd love to see what voices y'all hear!

Is it possible to develop with only 4 reels in a 5 reel steel tank?

I came in to possession of a steel tank that fits 5 35mm film, which is great with my current back-log. However, I only have 4 reels for it currently, and I'm imagining they would shift / slosh around in the tank during inversion if it's not full.

My previous developing has all been in a Jobo tank with plastic reels that fit snuggly on a post in the middle of the tank.

Is it okay for the reels to slide and slosh around during inversion? Or should I wait until I get a 5th reel, or one of those central metal shafts, or maybe I can just cram some kind of steel in the empty space to hold everything in place?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ help.

Replacement thermostat doesn't have locator tab. Is that okay? And will RTV sealent help me hold a thermostat in place during this repair?

I'm replacing the thermostat on a 2007 Kia Spectra. In my first attempt, I un-seated the thermostat and as expected the connection to the housing leaked.

  1. I noticed that the new thermostat I have doesn't have a locator tab at the top of the fitting, while the original thermostat does, and the car has a little cutout for that tab to fit into. Is it okay to use a thermostat which doesn't have this tab? It seemingly seats properly / flush, and I can locate the top of the thermostat well enough without a tab. But I worry that its absence could affect the seal somehow.

  2. To prevent me from knocking the thermostat out of place while reinstalling the hose connector, I was told I could put a very thin layer of RTV sealent on the depression where the thermostat sits to hold it in place. It seats very precariously as is, as the thermostat has to be totally vertical and it seems to want to sort of faceplant out of its seating. Is this a reasonable plan? And would it be worth applying a very thin layer to the back and front of the gasket while I'm at it?

(I have to get another new gasket since replacing the hose connection while the thermostat wasn't seated properly left a slight indent in the gasket)
