Looking For Suggestions - Event Table Demos & Activities

Our make space will be participating in a craft fair in just over a month. We have three 10x10 spaces and we're trying to figure out what we should offer as demos or activities during the weekend.

Our space offers... Woodshop... Metal shop... Lasers... 3d printers... Sewing... Electronics... Vinyl cutter.

We have some ideas, but we're open to new ideas that are engaging, inexpensive, and easy to transport and set up.

Kakwa 55 vs ULA Catalyst?

My kids are getting old enough to start backpacking and I’m looking for a slightly larger pack than I currently have so I can shoulder a bit more of the load. I don’t need anything huge. Just a little extra just in case.

I currently have an older Zerk 40 and a 10+ year old Osprey Exos 48. I tend to run with fairly compact and lightweight gear. I could probably make the osprey work, but I also kind of want something new.

And to be very transparent… I like the pocket arrangement, adjustable sizing, bear can compatibility, and overall look of the catalyst… but I like the price, and shoulder strap pockets of the kakwa. I’m also not sure about the zippered side pocket on the kakwa. Ideally anything with a zipper would be easily replaced or swapped out. Being built into the main pack isn’t my favorite.

Thoughts?

Anyone Know These Reckless Riders Seen Near Farrell and Syzmanski Parks?

I'm getting pretty sick of all these kids on e-motos driving too fast and screwing around on the pedestrian paths. These two ripped around a turn scaring a family pushing a stroller. Someone is going to get seriously hurt one of these days.if it hasn't happened already.

We can't expect the police to be able to monitor or do anything about these bad actors, but we can put them on blast online.

If you know these kids or the parents of these kids please let them know they're community doesn't appreciate their lack of consideration.

And please start taking photos and sharing them anytime you run into these irresponsible riders. I don't care if they get a ticket or not. I just want them to be better citizens, and shame can be a surprisingly strong motivator.

Ideas For Reusing Old Sleeping Pads??

I have two double wide insulated sleeping pads that have both failed. The manufacturer has taken care of us, but doesn't want the pads back.

I'm trying to come up with ideas for what to do with the fabric.

I made an insulated tote the other day but still have a lot of fabric. Also, my little domestic machine really struggled once the layers started adding up, so getting across the finish line took some patience.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Or if anyone wants the material for a project I'd be happy to donate.
