This might take us out of the running for DeMar. The Nuggets can probably offer him a starting role and/or more money

Nikola Jokic will be 36 years old when the Nuggets can use the Cavs’ 2031 first round pick they acquired for Peyton Watson

That’s it. That’s the post.

Terrible asset management from the Denver Nuggets once again, even after firing Calvin Booth.

Where does Denver even go from here?

Draymond Green on the NBA investigating Kawhi Leonard: "If the punishments aren't steep, everybody should do it, if it's just gonna be a slap on the wrist, then everybody should do it and every player should be trying to do it."

Some people might disregard this because of their hatred for Draymond, but this is an excellent point. If a precedent is set, what is stopping Ballmer from doing the same thing with Jokic next offseason? What is stopping the Knicks from arranging a huge under the table deal with Brunson?

Draymond went on to also say this: I think this raises the question about the salary cap, we're playing in a league where a team just sold for $12.5 billion... let the punishment be getting rid of the salary cap."

I mean... just look at the MLB.

Rich Paul says he believes LeBron James’ performance in Lakers-Rockets playoff series influenced his decision to keep playing

This is what Rich Paul said on the Game Over podcast today:

"I think if [the Lakers] somehow get swept or lose 4-1 in that [Rockets] series ... it could be different," Paul said. "... I think it gave us another [perspective]."

Looks like Sengun and KD will get free meals in Philly for life.

[Men’s Health] Ben Simmons on a potential NBA comeback: “Maybe I’ll go back to Philly,” he says. “Miami would be nice. And not because it’s Miami—I like Erik Spoelstra, I like the Heat, I like their organization, I like the culture.”

Here’s an excerpt from Ben’s interview with Clay Skipper for Men’s Health Magazine:

“I plan on getting as strong as I can physically, getting my ass on the court, and then the team realizing that my abilities will be needed,” he says. “I don’t have a plan on where.” He feels like he still has a lot to offer teams (“You can’t teach 6'10" and IQ,” he says), and he’s been talking to coaches who have told him to get healthy, because if he’s healthy, he has a spot. “Maybe I’ll go back to Philly,” he says. “Miami would be nice. And not because it’s Miami—I like Erik Spoelstra, I like the Heat, I like their organization, I like the culture.”

Each time the Toronto Blue Jays reach .500, they lose 4+ straight games

- When they were 4-4, they lost 3 straight games

- When they were 29-29, they also lost 4 straight games

- Just a week ago were 39-39, they again lost 4+ straight games

The Jays have also been outscored 27-42 in the past week (last 6 games). Brutal season

EDIT: I wrote 4+ instead of 3+ in the title. Apologies

[USA Today] Knicks to become first NBA champion to visit 45th/47th Administration’s White House, Dolan says

Excerpt:

New York Knicks owner James Dolan, who invited Trump to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals, said the team will accept an invite from the president on Wednesday, June 17, during an appearance on WFAN New York.

"As a matter of tact, thank you for asking me that, we just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted," Dolan said during the appearance. "We still have to figure out the details, et cetera, but yes, of course. Look, I invited the President to come down for the game. He is a friend.
I've known him for 30 years and I'm very proud to bring the team to the White House."

Dolan has long been a supporter and donor of Trump and sat alongside the President in Dolan's suite June 8 during New York's 115-111 loss against the Spurs in Game 3, the team's only defeat during the series.

[The Guardian] Adam Silver ‘thrilled’ President will attend NBA finals at Madison Square Garden

Excerpt from the Article:

“Donald Trump, before he ever ran for office, he was a big Knicks fan,” Silver said. “I was there at many Knicks games with him in the old days. He attended many of our drafts when they used to take place at Madison Square Garden.”

Silver reiterated a message he conveyed Wednesday amid reports that Trump might attend – that sports can be unifying, even in deeply divided political times.

“We can emphasize what we have in common, not what pulls us apart,” Silver said. “We’re seeing that in New York and I think President Trump is very much a New Yorker, and I’m thrilled that yet another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knick team.”

The commissioner acknowledged that Trump’s presence will require extra security in and around Madison Square Garden. That would almost certainly mean longer transit times and logistical issues for fans.

“I think the fans are very understanding of that,” Silver said. “I think they recognize that it adds to the bigness of the event.”
