I had to rush to set up a car mount for a motorsports event, I had one version set up but the suction cups failed and I had to pivot to the setup seen in the photo. It works well, except for vibrations. I’ve been trying to find a suitable vibration isolator but all the ones I’ve found have specific mounts that make it seemingly impossible to simply mount it to a manfrotto plate or just bolting them down.

Please bear with me, I’m VERY new to this, working mostly at a much lower level of video creation.

I recently got into sim racing and I really dislike how the playseat trophy shift knob/handbrake mount works. So with some extra pieces of kit, I built something that I think works fairly well, and if you’re anything like me and have been searching for awhile, hopefully this helps.

Basically it’s a SIMAGIC L bracket (but many L brackets can be used for this, aliexpress is great for this, and the playseat trophy shift knob holder kit. I only use the portion that gives you a flat plate, and then drill into that plate for the handbrake, and use the pre-drilled and threaded holes to mount the L bracket. Ends up giving you much more natural placement for the respective pieces and it doesn’t flood over into the seat anymore!

A friend was in a hosted league race with me last night and after a tow to pits the car wouldn’t stop in pits, would slowly move forward and wouldn’t do anything despite gear/telemetry. He tried to re tow multiple times and it kept doing it. Anyone know what could cause this and how to potentially fix it?
(He mentioned he did try to accelerate in reverse but it never worked)

I know the photos aren’t amazing, but I think it still gets my point across. I can add a video if requested.

I tested three lenses to verify this issue.

DZO Arcana - results in post
Sony 35mm GM - working properly
NiSi Athena 85 - working properly

Essentially the issue is that my camera detects focus (via peaking) on the anamorphic lens when it’s not actually sharp. And when it is actually sharp, it no longer detects critical focus. This happens with desqueeze on or off, and does not happen on spherical lenses it seems. I verified this against an external monitor as well so as to not just trust my eyes, and the external monitor functions as expected with all three lenses. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this, what might be done to resolve it, and if anyone knows, who I could contact from Sony about this.

When I shoot for a specific company, it has me traveling for the day and often required to shoot in direct sunlight. Not something I'm particularly used to, so lately I've been trying different editing techniques to bring the best out of direct sunlight.

Thoughts, feedback, etc?

I built this little vibration isolator out of two different ones, and at the time it made sense, manfrotto on both sides, obviously now I realize the issues, but I’m curious if there’s a way to resolve this. The idea would be to make it so I can still relatively easily take it on and off for when it’s needed.
