My mom passed away almost 3 months ago, and I was given her yarn stash.

She would have turned 92 this Sunday.

When I was growing up, she crocheted a lot. Everyone got a blanket and/or teddy bear. She also sewed clothes for all 6 of us kids, including christening gowns for a couple of grandkids, and even sewed some Barbie doll clothes. She stopped years ago due to age and declining health.

Getting this yarn made me happy and sad at the same time. I don't yet know what I'll make with it all, but I'll be thinking of Mom when I do use it.

Who else had one of these blankets growing up?

Mom passed away two months ago. My siblings and I were sorting through her stuff recently and I found these instructions from a kit from the 70's. I remember the finished blanket, but unfortunately it no longer exists. Boy, does this bring back memories!

I'm plan to make one of these (but in a different color pallet), I just have to finish a couple of other WIP's first.

Found in my flower bed. NE Indiana.

I used to have a couple of trumpet vines. I sure hope this isn't remnants of them.

Almost every night on my way home, I see a white SUV run a stop sign turning east onto Ferguson across from the airport, then proceed to speed down Ferguson, then run the stop light while turning left onto Bluffton rd. I see this at least two nights a week. If they end up behind me, they tailgate all the way to Bluffton rd.

Tonight, this a-hole just about ran me off the road when they came flying out onto Ferguson, causing me to slam on my brakes. I got it on my dash cam, and you can see their license plate. It was suggested to me that I call the cops (on the non-emergency line), but I don't know who has jurisdiction there, and I don't have faith that the cops will do anything about it, anyway. I never see cops in the area, which is why this behavior continues, and has been going on for months.

They are going to hurt someone some day. Sadly, it probably won't change anything as far as the police are concerned.
