I wanted the Canucks to draft no. 72. This is the best I can do.
Just picked this up at the flea market. Completely random find!

Just picked this up at the flea market. Completely random find!
Didn't take it home, it was priced a bit high at $20.
I love Japanese food, but this was straight up disgusting. It's an Aomori specialty, so I had to try it. I've been to Japan a few times, and this was the first time that I had the runs immediately after eating something. The taste is some mix of brine/sour and the texture was slimy like a slug.
This all came from the flea market. He bought a storage locker and it was just full of games. I had to dig through a few boxes to find the boxed NES games which came to $50 CDN. Mario Kart 64 and Duke Nukem were $20 each.
Gex and American Gladiators were $15 each.
The NES was $10 was from another vendor (I call him my real life GTA character).
I know this is a lot of people's holy grail, but I have never seen anything this rare at the flea market. Guy wanted $500, and I thought for 2 hours, but I ended up NOT buying it. Trust me it was a hard decision, but I have other things lined up this year so I couldn't justify spending something like that knowing that it would just sit on my shelf.
Hi Everybody! You may remember me from such food reports as my 2016, 2018, and 2020 recommendations. If not, please have a look at the links below. This is from an 8 day trip I just finished during Golden Week, a speed run of sorts through Sapporo, Noboribetsu, Shiraoi, Aomori, Hirosaki and Omiya. Hokkaido is awesome for food and I had some of the freshest produce I've ever had in Japan. I've only included 20 as per reddit, but there's a lot more on IMGUR.

Here are my top 5 food experiences on this trip! I'll be hanging around for a bit so let me know if you've enjoyed this post. Cheers.
**Azumaya Ekimae**, Morioka
Morioka is known for it's 3 Great Noodles, and one of them is Wanko Soba. It's basically an eating challenge where the waitress stands over you with bowls of bite-size bits of soba, and you have to finish as much as you can. She will refill it when you finish, and you can only stop when you put the lid on your own bowl. I started off strong but slowed down quickly. I only got to 55. My friend really wanted the 100 bowl wooden plaque and I was amazed he did it! Even the manager was impressed and declared him the "Champion of Canada" hahaha. He gave us a free sticker on top and took a photo with us. It was an amazing experience!
**Dekunobo \[Hittsumi\]**, Morioka Morning Market
This little stall in the Morning Morioka Market had wide noodles. A local local specialty, the wide, flat noodles was chewy and something I've never had in Japan. And the soup stock was amazing, no joke. Probably the best dashi I've ever had. 600 Yen a bowl and there was a lineup all the time. The market is only open from 5am-7:30 am so stuff sells out fast.

**オハウとジビエの専門店 海空のハル 白老ウポポイ店**, Shiraoi
This is the name of the Ainu restaurant in Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park). Definitely in the top 3 of my meals ever on this trip and in Japan. My friend said it was the best thing he ever had on his 3 trips. This is from the Ainu restaurant in Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park in Shiraoi. I was a bit apprehensive about the bear (after reading about trichinosis and parasites) but the waitress assured us it was slow cooked and cooked through. The other meat was venison and the venison was extremely tender. The bear meat was just ok.

**Tenma**, Sapporo
Soup Curry! Definitely a Sapporo must have! This was on Floor 6 of the JR Sapporo mall, called Tenma. I really liked the flavour of the soup, and I ordered 2 out of 10 spice level because I wanted to taste the flavour, not the spice. The various veggies of eggplant, lotus root, and everything else was fantastic.

**A-BossA**, Aomori
Well, it better be something apple I guess. This was from A-factory in Aomori. Apple pizza and a mocktail with apples and berries. The pizza was 950 Yen and drink was 550 Yen. Very tasty dessert pizza and refreshing drink!

My eyes were bulging when I saw the vinyl at a booth. The vendor kind of panicked and started to look at prices, but we settled at $9 a piece. The "local crew" shirts were from an estate sale, I assumed he worked as a roadie/lighting tech or something, he had a lot of band shirts (I will have a future post sometime, I went back this week to get more)
Got around to posting my finds from last week. SNES mini was $25 from the flea, $8 for Duke, and the rest were from garage sales. The Gameboy lot was $10 total.
I got these about a month ago or so but I've been busy traveling and working so now I can fully enjoy them. I got them via the auction from the Giants. So happy to see older gamers like the Tyson Zimmer on there for relatively cheap.

Compared to my 3 previous hauls from Japan, this is certainly the fewest things I've ever bought on a trip. Honestly, I was going through my collection and all the stuff I've bought in previous trips, I've never even opened or played. So on this trip I was only targeting a few games, and not looking to buy a lot. I still enjoy the hunt so it was cool to see what was still available.
