Ron Gutterman: A member of the Buss family had decision-making power over the Lakers for 47 seasons. In that time: 11 championships 17 Finals appearances 38 playoff appearances 23 seasons with a win percentage above .650 Not sure an ownership run will exist like this ever again.

Since Vegas went to all 30 teams in 2018, only eleven teams have gone 4-0. 10 of 11 had an All-Summer League selection. The 2024 Warriors was the only exception (Podz and Jackson-Davis played only 2). Lakers went 4-0 with Kaluma, Thiero, and Manon playing all 4, and Carr playing 3. Zero selections.

Since Vegas went to all thirty teams in 2018, only eleven teams have gone 4-0. 10 of 11 had an All-Summer League selection. The 2024 Warriors was the only exception, but this makes sense as Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis played two games.

Lakers went 4-0 with Arthur Kaluma, Adou Thiero, and Chris Manon all playing four games, and Cam Carr playing 3 of the games. Zero selections.

All four of these lakers averaged double figures, led by Kaluma's 18.6 points per game, in Vegas. Kaluma was 60.9% from the field. And he shot 50% from range. Perhaps the question should be whether or not Kaluma was worth of First Team or Second Team, as opposed to whether or not he should have made the list.

Of course there are questions like: "Who cares about Summer League and the All-Summer League teams" and "Other guys had higher PPG". For me, it's about two things:

First it's about recognizing the Summer League Lakers' best player Arthur Kaluma, who had a career changing run that cause the Lakers to sign him to a two way. He might not have a lot of these type of opportunities at recognition. Given his two way play, that should be recognized. Those talking about other playing having a higher PPG reminds me of that Miles McBride quote: he talked about how the league "reward guys that don’t win" and pay guys for that.

Secondly, it's about the principle of the matter. It's the latest in the long line of these type of snubs.

The Coachella Valley Lakers would welcome Peter Suder to their roster, a source familiar with the organization told ESPN, but understand that Suder will explore his options. The Lakers waived Suder from his 2-way deal to be able to sign Arthur Kaluma to a 2-way after Vegas.

LAL - MEM Trade

Lakers got tired of waiting on Kuminga, and instead get some young prospects at forward from Memphis, while helping Memphis with their roster crunch. This saves Memphis at least from waiving one player (and they have to waive five of their current 20 players) or using SRP to offload them. Scotty Pippen Jr was also pretty injured last season.

These are two separate transactions because of aggregation rules with Murray, but essentially it's a 2 for 1 swap.

Can't visualize this just yet, but the Pelicans get some three point shooting by upgrade from a development story in McGowens.

Lakers get a developmental 3 and D guard.
