Thermals

Hey guys,

So I think I just discovered something, if someone else wants to test that would be neat.

Got a new GPU block, and it has thermal issues, been looking at getting thicker thermal pads but I noticed alot of em don't make contact.

So me and my handy 3d printer make 2.5mm standoffs to replace the metal 4mm ones.

And well my thermals are greatly improved. No longer getting a hotspot of 100°c

All I did was change the stand offs for the backplate, how did this help ??

kryosheet reusable?

Hey guys,

So long story short I had to replace my EK GPU block and my replacement is a thermaltake.

Reused the thermal pad on die, pc boots but the thermals are god awful. It actually crashes when on any load

.

.

I'm wondering if the thermal pad is compressed to the gap of the EK block, and the gap the thermaltake one has is larger. So it can't actually transfer heat.
