Pregabalin vs Guanfacine
Currently on Guanfacine. Has anyone here taken Guanfacine in the past then switched to pregabalin, or in the reverse?
Curious of your experiences and how they differ from Guanfacine.

I’m honestly curious what everyone is going through with offers and interviews, particularly those who have been unemployed for 6 months - 1 year or so.
I’m a remote software engineer with 7 years experience.
I’m grateful to be having tons of interviews, final rounds, and offers. Although, none of them are sticking and it’s driving me mad. I just went through 5 rounds and was told I was nervous, which is insane because if you met me you’d understand I’m the most calm person. They are picking apart or misreading candidates.
Offer 1 - lead engineer: government shutdown, delayed until further notice (this was November 2025)
Offer 2 - principal engineer: started role and round out they don’t pay their employees at times, I had to leave the next day. Lots of other integrity issues here. Very early stage startup.
Offer 3 - founding engineer: offer delayed due to funding issues.
Offer 4 - IT Specialist (govt): couldn’t bring me on because HR made an error with the posting. I was going to get an offer and specifically did this for job security, but somehow got unlucky here. HM said I’ll have to reapply when posting comes back up, and said the role will be similar and so will the interviews. Such a waste of time.
I also went through final rounds for 3 other roles and didn’t get it. Along with a few hundred interviews (guessing but it’s a good amount) - lots of first and second rounds.
Unemployed: 10 months
I’m grateful to have gotten offers and lots of interviews, although this is feeling impossible because nothing is sticking and starting to feel like I’m cursed or something.
Is anyone else running into this type of luck / experience? It feels never ending and now trying to get a part time job to pay the bills in the meantime.
I find it a little disrespectful to not provide the format of an interview with a software engineer on the team. Especially, when you ask politely what the format will be and they simply don’t respond. 90% of companies have no problem with this. It’s especially frustrating when it’s a full stack role, mainly because I have to spend significantly more time preparing. It could be anything from sys design, frontend, backend, or even ds / algos.
Sometimes I just feel like they don’t want you to do well. I’ve hired a lot of senior engineers and provided the format to set them up for success. The goal isn’t to trick the interviewee into failing, it’s to create a good expense and test their actual skills. Tons of companies do this.
The recruiter said I was the only one so far that’s made it this far in the interview process. Then they wonder why it’s so hard for them to find someone.
I’ve never understood this. Back to prepping.
I know these types of questions are posted often, although this situation just feels odd. I went through the interview process and the manager reached out to me himself to meetup that next day and wanted to have a casual chat about a role I applied to, to ensure I was serious. Well, I did and it appeared like a good fit - saying the role could potentially start as early as middle of May. It wasn’t really an interview.
I have vets preference. I then had a panel interview and answered each within very thoroughly. Bias aside, I did very well and they even said I did good.
Fast forward 3 weeks and nothing. No reference checks or anything. I know it’s not uncommon to wait this long, although the team specifically said they were having trouble in their department because so many people historically left due to shutdown. They were also really in demand for it specialists.
I have 7-10 years experience in non-federal roles.
Is it possible I’m still in the running?
What’s your favorite things about Longmont? I’ve never lived in Colorado, so would love to hear it!
My job will be in Louisville - I’ve never been to Denver area - plan on visiting before I move, trying to get a heads on best apartments and/or places to live.
I don’t want to commute more than 25 mins or so or live in the city. Budget is 2600 or so for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. Looking for apartments. I found a couple in Superior that look decent, although don’t want to hear the highway noise if possible. I know the two major freeways are pretty bad I’ve heard.
I have a dog and looking for trail and/or park access.
I have a bike and electric scooter and hopefully looking for somewhere that I can commute to for restaurants etc. not a deal breaker but would be nice.
I’m pretty open and have lived in Bend, OR in the past. Clearly love nature and like golden but it’s a bit too far away.
Looking for apartment recommendations thank you! Mid 30s, foodie
