hi there! this video is from my older brother who is 26, he does not use reddit but i am quite honestly at a loss and would love some extra input. the cat's name is Cosmo, i believe he is around 4 months old and is an intact male. he has been to the vet and gotten a full workup since we found him in a parking lot, he had fleas and ringworm. the fleas are gone and the ringworm is pretty much almost gone. he has a vet visit coming up on the 15th. this is what my brother said about Cosmo's behavior:
"He’s loafing and then he is either like gagging or dry heaving with his mouth closed. Like he’s gonna either puke or choke, i can’t tell what it is"
"Well it’s weird because he plays for a few minutes then loafs and does it again"
"Yeah he prob has a hairball bc he’s like oddly licking but not aiming for his body he’s just sticking his tongue out and trying to get something out of his mouth it seems like"
my brother and i are in the US, and since the cat has moved in with him he will be taking care of the vet bills, which he is fully capable of and i will chip in if necessary. i'm just very worried about the coughing because i've never seen this in my own cats before and upon researching other similar videos the diagnosis is usually a resporatory issue or asthma. should i tell him to go to the vet sooner? i've told him to vacuum and put on a humidifier for now. thanks everyone!!
this is my sweet girl valkyrie, she is almost 3 years old. i took her outside yesterday to take in some sun and she seemed to like it, but i couldn't really quite tell if she was trying to get us to back off or just soaking up the sun. her stance makes me think it's the latter.
the white thing she is inside of is actually for keeping butterflies/moths (hence the kinda fuzzy pics, there was a plastic thing for her to see out of). i do have a much smaller carrier for transportation but i wanted her to be able to roam if she wanted, though she ended up not moving at all lol. when she was younger and i took her in the smaller carrier to get her nails trimmed, she had a small moment where she got afraid of the sky, made her beard all dark and hissed, but it was over quicker than it even started. since then, i've let her look out my window plenty and she hasn't been as frightened.
yesterday though, she sat there for a while before puffing herself out. her mouth only opened when someone walked around and behind her, i assume it was their shadow that scared them, and she closed it after. her beard only really got slightly dark when i was getting ready to take her in, and even then it wasn't a full black beard; i've never seen her like that. it was pretty warm out, but not basking-temp warm like it has been the last few days, so i chalked it up to it not being warm enough for her maybe?
to close off my long and probably annoying ramble, i just want an opinion from some of you. do you think was she pissed? or just trying to get some sun straight from the source? i'm going to feel so bad if i was just needlessly stressing her out, but i want her to experience the sunlight dammit!! 😭
the left one i found on our back deck and the right one i got a while back so i can't exactly remember, but both were found in NE ohio!

yes i'm referring to the musical here! i don't have pics on hand but last night i tried to make hamilton, burr, laurens, and lafayette and none of them look like themselves whatsoever 😭 alexander & burr are at least somewhat accurate but i really failed with laurens and lafayette. i plan on making an entire island of the whole cast as their characters from the musical, so if anyone feels like sharing please do!!
if you don't know, its the one that looks like it was taken by a dentist super up close and personal. i've seen a lot of people saying it's him and like.. it wouldn't be the *most* farfetched idea, but i just want to know for sure out of curiosity 😭
