About to be a new parent in Cork

Thinking of things to get involved in over the next year beyond the baby classes.

I absolutely intend to do little swimmers and a couple of other mam and baby classes but beyond that I am thinking of my own personal development and sanity.

I will be leaving a fairly professional world for a year after a long time and I have been getting a lot of my social interactions from work, and I'm aware how lonely it can be.

I've already joined my local library where I intend to take part in some Irish speaking meet ups and maybe a knitting meet up. All things that usually happen during work hours.b

What else is out there for a new parent that you might recommend or found helpful?

Please and thank you for reading.

Mounjaro and pregnancy.

Howdy.

Started MJ last June. Lost about 35lbs.

Found out I was pregnant in December, immediately stopped taking MJ.

Baby due in a couple of weeks. I'm happy I've only gained 15 pounds.

I intend to go back on MJ once I'm recovered a little bit.

Is mybmi still the way to go?

Any advice from on restart from people in similar situations?

You can only pick ONE...

What is the most irritating thing she does?

My one thing is how she blow jobs spoons of food and regurgitates it back out all covered in spit.

An mbeadh sé seo ina ainm uafásach do chailín beag?

...... Samhradh

Ba mhaith linn ainm nach coitianta.

Tá Fódhla agus Ériu are an liosta freisin ach b'fhéidir go bhfuil síad "ro mór", no "ró Irish"?

Aon Smaointe eile?

Mad but not too mad.

Road strawberries...

Anybody see them anywhere?

I went from Carrigaline to Kilbrittain today, down by Kinsale and home through Bandon. Was hoping I'd see some.

Is it not a Cork thing?

Private Room in CUMH for C section, any details?

Getting close to D day. 16 July. A Thursday.

I've been in private care so have not set foot in CUMH yet.

Just wondering what to expect IF a private room is available? I understand it's not guaranteed.

Room layout? Private bathroom and shower or just toilet and basin?

Are husbands allowed stay later/over?

Assume that once baby is healthy you are left to care fully for baby from first night ré bottles and nappies?

I know they will provide milk and we just bring nappies.

Assume himself can come back in again from 9am?

Any logistics you have would be great, I'm not that anxious but I just like the idea of gathering all the info I can to be prepared for whatever may come.

So whatever CUMH, private care section stories you have I would love to hear them.

Thank you.

Thinking of buying a Nespresso Vertuo machine

Some decent deals on the website.

My logic with going for Nespresso, and one of the newer Vertuo machines is that I assumed the biggest brand would command the most dupes for pods.

Alas, I checked the Dunnes dupe pods and they specifically say they work for Nespresso original but not Vertuo machines.

So tell me, where are you getting your off brand pods for your Nespresso Vertuo machine please?

Edit - this has been really helpful, thank you. Vertuo is off the cards. The reason I want a one press type machine is I will soon be on mat leave with my first and want a lazy and simple option for the summer months to make nice coffee/iced coffee at home. I understand it may not make me the best, cheapest, even most ethical coffee. Any recs for machines that fit the bill with easy pod buying options?

She may think she "won" with the tattle thread being closed but...

She must definitely be down views and shares etc without it.

Hate watching paid her.

Without that she must be struggling. No real brands working with her etc.
