Romance readers of RoyalRoad, what tropes do yall like?

Basically the title, as you can guess by my tag my story is settled in a romance direction. Im currently rewriting book 1 and making plans for further books, so now Im wondering what tropes are especially popular along my potential audience.

Snowballs chance in hell this is legit?

For the first time In months I get a comment on my story, asking something about the plot, pretty late chapter too. I answer and a couple hours later I get this reply (this is only the latter half), decide it sounds strange and check their bio.

Any chance this is more than an attempt to sell me on getting a cover or something from them?

Can Prog Fantasy be low stakes/cozy?

I am currently writing a fantasy story about a young orphan becoming the Housekeeper for a wizard and learning more and more magic in order to make their housework easier and faster, before learning how to break their spells apart to create new spells.

While they will grow and learn more, there is no combat and problems are more along the lines of a drought that gets solved with a magically rerouted river than a dragon killing sheep so to speak.

Does this still count as Progression Fantasy?

Finally found a Cover artist, now what?

Its been eight months since I started posting, my first novel is finished and Im writing the second one right now, all wihtout having had a cover since. But I finally found an artist I can trust so that will be over soon, right?

Here is my problem:

Im not sure what would entice the readers best.

This is the first part of my blurb:

When I was reincarnated to another world, I expected cheat powers, I expected powerful artifacts, supreme techniques I expected- Well I didn't expect waking up a noble. A newlywed noble.

The Ideas I had so far were:

  1. The opening scene of the novel, the protagonist being pinned to a wall by his wife. Either from an outside perspective or his POV of an angry woman with wolf ears glaring at him.

  2. A scene mid novel, such as him and his wife rushing into a building to save their friends

  3. A later scene of them sitting in the inn, him brushing her hair while she polishes a sword

What are your thoughts? Im open to anything reasonable.

Light Novel style cover wanted for RoyalRoad

Im looking for a cover for my RoyalRoad webnovel "My Isekai Bonus is my wife"

What Id like to know from you:

Have you made covers for other RR stories and if yes, which?

What is your usual time to finish a cover?

Price? My budget is flexible but Im hoping to stay at or below 200$, though Im open to negotiate.

This is my first time looking into this subreddit so I hope this phrasing is acceptable.

I hope we can both come out of this satisfied and I wish you a wonderful day!

Edit: I have found an artist. Thank you very much for all the offers I recived so far.

▲ 34 r/Isekai

[Discussion] What could you introduce after being Isekai´ed?

Basically the top question. As so often happens In Isekai, the hero or heroine "invents" something commonplace in our world but unknown to the locals. Guns are common, as are paper and soap, same with foods. What do you think you could introduce into another world?

No looking up anything now, Im curious about the non-cheating answer.

Brothers in Dao I seek TTRPG's

I was curious, outside of something like "Exhalted", which is at best close to it, are there TTRPG's of any kind that seek to emulate the Martial path?

Questions regarding Covers

Hello Party people!

I have questions and I will just get to them straight away. Answer as many as you feel like.

  1. Is having side characters on the cover of book 2 a dealbreaker? (Side Character meaning the ballpark of e.g. Krillin or Yamcha for DBZ)

  2. Will the cover from Volume 2 appear in the preview of my story (on the front page for new uploads or the like) or will the first Volume´s cover appear?

  3. Do you have any does or donts regarding a cover you´re willing to share?

  4. Where can I find artists for my cover (I dont want to use AI and I will ignore all suggestions to use it, I will also not accept any offers I get via this post, I´ve been burned before, thank you for your understanding.)

Thank you in advance, have a wonderful day.

Any suggestions regarding what to do to maximize my start of my second Volume?

After finishing Vol 1 of my story, I was overwhelmed with the difference in readers I had to other stories. To be fair, I had no cover, no shoutout swaps, or an ad at the time, so I told myself that it was normal and I should be happy to be at almost 14k views.

But I decided I want more for volume 2. Outside of what I said above (and advice in that regard is also appreciated), what can I do to get the most out of my second volumes start?

How do the readers on here feel about the metric system?

Basically what it says on top. I personally am more at home with the metric system, but if would drive away potential readers then Ill just bite the bullet and use the imperial.

The main reason Im asking is because I recently started reading "The Primal Hunter" and I noticed that they used metric.I told myself: No Harm in asking.

Thank you in advance!
